- The guardian of a very old forest, he is tasked with keeping the balance within the boundaries of the forest, and in later days he's been prone to attempting expansions of it. A true friend of the forest Fern despises humanity and all it stands for with a passion, as they are unable to live in harmony with the nature he loves so dearly. Thus his diet contains no vegetable matter at all and, preferable, solely human meat. He does enjoy the occasional cup of tea and bisquit though, but they don't count.
- Although he despises humans he can't shake is fondness for gold and jewels. Present him with a couple of gold coins and he may grant you free passage through the forest. May. Depends on if it's around dinner time or not.
- A skogsrå by heritage he has a hollowed out back that resembles a rotten tree with assorted mushrooms growing within it. But that's not very visible since he wears a raggedy, dark green poncho that covers it. He tries to pretend to be menacing, but really he's just a big weenie who likes trees.
