  1. Dear Clubs and Societies Executives,
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. Thank you so much for your time and participation at yesterday’s Information Session. As discussed, we intend to keep up regular channels of communication to ensure the continued success of the C&S Program. Your participation is much appreciated, and we look forward to engaging you in similar forums in the near future.

  9. Following a few challenges with our developer, the Clubs & Societies Handbook 2019 is now available on Orion, so please be sure to have a look through it and contact us if you have any queries. Pre-event forms have been triggered and if you face any issues with the portal, please let us know via email.

  13. Please also note that the correct formula for calculating the event funding claim is present in the Handbook, i.e., ($1 per USU member in attendance + 30% of total cost of the event) up to break even based on your event income. In addition, this formula is also reflected in the presentation that has been uploaded to Orion. On reflection, we feel the example formula presented and discussed yesterday may not have delivered the intention of the Handbook correctly. Therefore, I would like to clarify once again that it is ($1 per USU member in attendance + 30% of total cost of the event) up to break even based on your event income.

  17. Given the changes to the funding provisions of the Program, we wish to support all Treasurers with appropriate training. Treasurers, please respond to this survey to ensure we can schedule training on times and days that are suitable for most of you:

  23. Finally, upon reviewing the item we took on notice, i.e., the possibility of allowing clubs that don’t currently have a membership fee in their constitution to charge for membership with effect from Welcome Week; it was found that the USU Constitution and regulations don’t currently give us the authority to enforce such a change. While we understand that this poses a challenge for some of the clubs, we assure you that we are very much keeping this conversation alive and will work with you to find suitable solutions in an upcoming C&S forum.

  26.
  27. All the very best for Welcome Week!

  31. Kind regards,
