- Recently, there have been some incidents during races in this server, specifically during the voice calls that go on during races.
- These incidents, along with many others that are very similar over the years, have prompted me to post this list of Racing VC Etiquette.
- These are NOT rules. You won't be punished if you break anything on this lists. Mistakes happen.
- However, the following list is generally considered good manners during a race while in a voice call. You should do you best to follow them if you want to be a good, approachable racer.
- 1.) Don't talk over others. This is inevitable, and will happen accidentally in almost every race VC, even more so during calls with many people in them. However, you should make a conscious effort to avoid talking over others. Wait your turn to talk, don't talk over people. This is what makes people leave VCs.
- 2.) Don't rage super hard. This is a big one. Everyone is going to get upset at this game, it's inevitable with a game like this. But sometimes, it gets taken way too far. Yelling and screaming about how much you hate the game, over and over again, while in a VC, is just not good for anyone involved. Again, everyone is going to rage to some extent at one point or another. But this is becoming a bigger and bigger problem, and it needs to stop. Yelling, hitting things, breaking things; let's all try to take a deep breath and let it go. Telling everyone you're quitting FM every other week is also not a good look, especially in front of newer runners. Let's all just try to remember, we do this for fun, and screaming at the top of your lungs over and over again is ruining everyone's experience in the VC, and it's one of the reasons you'll notice people leaving or deafening.
- 3.) Don't be overly competitive. We're racing, of course, so we're all going to be competitive. But remember, we're here to have fun. There's no need to take the competitiveness too far.
- Remember: These are not RULES. Think of this as a list of good manners for being in a voice call in a Forbidden Memories race. You won't be punished for breaking any of these. And I'm sure we will all break some of these manners at one point or another.
- However, it's important that we all do our best to follow good race VC etiquette as often as we can. It will make race calls a better place to hang out!
- There's probably some things I missed, but you get the idea. This isn't an official list or anything like that, it's just a reminder.
- This Pastebin is not meant to attack anyone directly, and it was not created with anyone specific in mind. We all make mistakes! But if you feel like any of these is aimed directly at you, then that's probably a hint that you should do your best to have better race VC etiquette in the future!
