[(u"My boyfriend and I were looking to celebrate because I got a new job and he made a big sale for work. Therefore, we began looking up good Italian food on Yelp and found the Italian Grotto, which happens to be right by where by boyfriend works. \n\nWe went to dinner pretty early so we were one of the very few people in there besides  some individuals whom were there for happy hour. We started with a nice bottle of chardonnay and calamari. We were big fans of the calamari, I tend to see quite a few reviews on Yelp that suggest some people think all calamari was created equal and I disagree. The breading was very light and crispy and had some spice to it, the squid itself was very tender and was what I consider the perfect consistency for fried calamari. \n\nOne of the only downfalls of the whole meal was the bread that was first brought out. We were pretty hungry when we got in and the bread didn't come until right before the calamari, a good 10 minutes after the drinks, and when it came it became clear that this bread had been sitting out for quite some time and was starting to harden up. Certainly not a deal breaker but something I tend to look forward to when heading out for Italian cuisine. \n\nNext came the salads, I had the red wine vinaigrette and my boyfriend had the bleu cheese. Both of the dressings had great taste, my only criticism would be that the lettuce was not dried off very well after washing, once again not a huge issue, but something we remembered. \n\nFinally, the entrees. I ordered the scallops in a white wine sauce over a bed of pasta, and my boyfriend got the Chilean sea bass over spinach ravioli. Not the absolute best scallops or piece of Chilean sea bass we had ever had but the sauces they came in were to die for. Then the waiter noticed how much we were digging the sauce and brought us out a basket of fresh bread still warm and soft. I don't think they had to put those plates in the dishwasher after we were through with them. \n\nOur server did a great job, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly gave you space without being negligent. The atmosphere was precisely what I look for in an Italian restaurant. It's casual enough to be fun and relaxed, great music playing the whole time (Dean, Frank and company), very colorful obscure painting on the walls, but also had the ambiance to back up its pricing. \n\nWe wanted to get desert but we had a hard time standing up straight we were so full. So we didn't for a while, enjoyed our seat next to the window as the sun was setting on Old Town Scottsdale and watched the world go by as we finished up our bottle of chardonnay. All in all a tad on the expensive side but I certainly will be going back to try a few other things on the menu.",

 (u"We recently moved out of Gilbert and this is literally the only place I miss. We would come here weekly for their fantastic sandwiches and savory breakfasts. The California Club was always a standout. All of the ingredients taste so fresh and so well put together. And I love that they always put chips on the plate! The selection varies, so you never knew if you were gonna get Fritos or Ruffles that day. The TJ omelet with its chorizo, sour cream, and potatoes was so addicting! My other faves were any of the breakfast sandwiches, the breakfast burrito (must get!), and the turkey havarti sandwich. Really, you can't go wrong with anything you order here. \n\nI haven't tried many of the coffee drinks because once I had the Spanish Latte, I was hooked! It's really better warm, though, so I had to miss out on it during the summer months. But it's so sweet and delicious!\n\nThe cupcakes are phenomenal too. Order one. You won't be sorry!\n\nThis place is ALWAYS busy (and for good reason). I just wish they had more registers open and more people to help out because the line can hit the back of the restaurant. There never seems to be any urgency in the staff. It's also a little frustrating when you place a pickup order, you have to get in that line to pick up your previously ordered food. So your food could be sitting there for 10-15 minutes just waiting for you to get to the front of the line. Not really convenient when you're in a hurry and just need to grab-and-go. Sometimes the water jug is totally empty and there's no one available to refill it. Hence the need for more help. You have to keep up with the demand!",

 (u"This restaurant is exactly the kind of place you want to go if you're looking for a taste of Paris. The service is exquisite, our waiter was knowledgeable about every aspect of the restaurant, from the history to how every dish is prepared. He's amazing.\n\nOrdered from the Summer 5-course prix fixe menu and it was difficult choosing from the many options. \n\nThe basket of crudites were delicious with a variety of fresh vegetables to choose from. The french bread and butter was the perfect accompaniment to it. \n\nOrdered wine, Bordeaux Meritage, it was really nice and went perfectly with dinner. \n\nFor my second course I had the Bouchee de Fruits de Mer. The crust was so flakey and the cognac lobster bisque sauce that it sat in was mouth watering. The shrimp, scallops and mushrooms were done perfectly. It was just an amazing dish.\n\nOne issue I had was that the waiter kept taking my basket of crudites and I actually wanted to keep it on the table for the entire meal. It was so good! He probably knew I'd try to throw the basket in my purse for the ride home. Yum, yet, STOP. LEAVE THEM THERE. Eh, worse things have happened.\n\nFor the third course, it was the only choice, I had the Pamplemousse Granite'. It was essentially sorbet sitting in champagne. I'm not a big fan of champagne, but the sorbet was so delicious I didn't even notice it.\n\nNow this is where the foodgasm started to lose it's merciless grip: I ordered the prime rib eye steak with pomme frites. The steak was so tough I couldn't even cut it. While it was cooked perfectly (well, the inside was rare and red like it should have been), the outside tasted like a very cheap cut of meat. I was very disappointed. The frites, also, were just regular, almost McDonald's-like, french fries. I should have gone with the salmon like I wanted to. Yuck.\n\nThank goodness the food gods wanted to make it up to me; they brought me Belgium dark chocolat mousse (their spelling). If you like chocolate on any level, this will blow your taste buds into the stratosphere. The dark, rich, creamy, almost velvety mousse was enough to make me wish I'd skipped even the crudites to get to this magnificent display of MOUSSENESS. I know, that's not a word (it is NOW!), but I can't begin to even possibly adequately describe what this dessert tasted like, except pure Belgian chocolate goodness. A goodness that comes from the tears of babies and puppies and also lollipops. It was THAT good. Eat it. Eat it before I do.\n\nGet here, it's actually a perfect little off-strip gem that you'll keep going back to. Also: great special occasion place, amazing ambiance.",

 (u"I don't love fish, but even if I did, I wouldn't love it here.\n\nThis restaurant has been here for years.  My first memory of it was when I met a lady from a Cat Rescue program, when I adopted my beloved kitty Fluffy.  Fluffy died recently at the age of 15, but she was an awesome cat.  That memory is the best thing I can say about Bluewater Grill.\n\nAs for the restaurant itself, the food is blah.  I admit the food looks beautiful when served, but the taste is just meh.  My fish and chips were average, but the Cole slaw tasted weird.  My husband said his blackened mahi mahi was pretty good, but it was a bit off putting that they charged an extra $1 to blacken it.  Really?  Isn't seafood expensive enough without nickel and diming, people?  The Restaurant.com coupon made the price a little more tolerable though.  \n\nThe wait staff was friendly and the service was good.  They even gave me a black napkin when I was seated because I was wearing black pants.  I always consider that a mark of an upscale restaurant.  However, Bluewater Grill isn't upscale.  The location overhangs a freeway and the booths and tables are more reminiscent of a TGIF.\n\nThe restaurant does have a fish market with a variety of raw fish available for purchase.  While we were dining, quite a few people came in and bought the fish to prepare at home.  Maybe that's a better idea than dining in here.\n\nIMPORTANT UPDATE\n\nAfter reading my review, the owner / manager of Bluewater Grill sent me a private Yelp message and expressed his concerns over my negative comments.  I am very impressed that he took the time to read the Yelp reviews in the first place and then reach out to communicate with me.  He's obviously very serious about making his restaurant a better place.  Kudos to him.  :) \n\nAnd for that, I'm upgrading my original 2 star rating to a 3 star.",

 (u"I visit Scottsdale once a year and decided to give this place a try. This weekend SUS was hosting Carmen Lynch - we had a fantastic time. The place was packed too. When we got there (around 6:30pm for the 7:30pm show), we got a few drinks in the waiting area, then around 6:45pm we were let into the main room where we were sat in twos at tables. The main room was nice - the staff was funny and attentive - once the show started it got quite warm in the room but nothing to really complain about. \n\nThe opening acts were fabulous - Mike Kennedy being one of them. The owner Howard Hughes came up after 1 or 2 opening acts to give us a show - he's allowed after all, but I quickly got lost as to where his comedic act was headed - I understand that it's his place and he can do what he wants, but I wanted to feel more as if he really belonged up there, but it just felt awkward as if he was up there because he could. Carmen was wonderful and overall I laughed my butt off all night! At the end Howard came back up to re-plug his comedy club...and then plugged another club saying it was cleaner and nicer - dude claim your ground! Your place is great! Seemed real keen on Yelp and leaving a review, but only good ones.....ok here it is! \n\nFor those complaining about not getting tap water and having to pay $4 for Voss water - the place has to make money somehow besides ticket sales...plus why would you want to drink tap water...? Theres water in beer, drink that. \n\nDon't really have any cons about the place, and will return when I come back to Scottsdale next time!",

 (u"If you're stuck at the Hilton or have midnight munchies this is a good place to stop but I wasn't very impressed. I got the Mac and cheese and my sister got a veggie burger. The burger was actually pretty goodand was a huge portion. It's probably the only thing that made this a three star rather then a two star rating. My mac and cheese was horrible. It looked amazing at first glance and the first few bites even had me raving. But I quickly found there is such a thing as two much cheese. The sauce, which I have decided tasted like Alfredo which they just dumped a ton of shredded cheese in, was so rich that I ate maybe a quarter of the dish. I am a total cheese lover but this was just ridiculous. Plus there was a bad noodle sauce ratio, ifthey just added more noodles and used less sauce they could probably off set how strong it is. \n\nService was not great either. Hostess and bussers were friendly but our server was borderline horrible. I mean we had to ask for waters about three times until another server finally brought them to us. He was overall just unfriendly and bad at serving. \n\nFor price and quality if you're lazy this is fine but I would rather just hit the strip or something.",

 (u"We have come here on many occasions for our work team-lunches.. it's perfect because it's walk-up, cheap, lots of options, separately cash orders, and you have plenty of room to sit and enjoy your bread-tastic sandwich with your fellow coworkers.  You obviously know they have fresh baguettes as they are practically made right in front of you (nice touch).  \n\nI do have to say that their sandwiches are OK and not really anything that amazed me or impressed me.. just OK.  In short, it works for team lunches because there are lots of menu options (they have huge croissants, also... yummy buttery goodness).  I have yet to try their Boba, but their variety of flavors did catch my eye.\n\nI did, bravely enough, try their Durian ice-cream.. for those who have never heard of it , it is a nasty smelling fruit popular in Asian countries, though it is banned from public appearance due to it's horrendous, foul odor ... and taste!  Well, you can imagine their Durian ice cream was no different.  We did it more for a dare between coworkers, but I tried it and was disgusted... effin gross, man... that's all I can say (that did not weigh on my 3 star review, in case you were curious).",

 (u'The Place is BEAUTIFUL! \n\nSmall!  Really just Four seats!!!  Seems to almost serve as a lobby of sorts to the Hotel and Restaurant!\n\nService!  OUTSTANDING!  When I told the Dude working here (he asked how we liked our Desserts) I told him and he made some suggestions and brought over two that he thought we would like!  The Girl working here was very helpful getting the Most Photogenic of each item we chose (I told her I would photograph these and she had some good ideas)!\n\nWhat was really Good or Better than good : \n\nAll of These Desserts are BEAUTIFUL!!!\n\nMacaroons were exceptional!  Better than "Amelie\'s" More comparable to "Think Chocolate" in Ballantyne!  Red Velvet, Orange Sickle and Pistachio were the best of the five we tasted!\n\nCream Cheese Icing on Top of a Carrot Cake Cupcake!  My Bride and I enjoyed this Icing which is VERY Rare since I prefer a Butter Cream Icing and only a Rare Cream Cheese Icing... Usually only one of us likes the same... I this particular situation we BOTH thought it was EXCEPTIONAL! ! !  The Cake had a very Fine Flavor, Like a Sweet Carrot Bread, much less sweet than Cake which was Nice for us since we already had so much Dessert!\n\nPeanut-butter and Jelly Creation, this was the Yellow most Unusual and Unique Looking of what they had!  \n\n\nWhat needs work :\n\nThe Dessert Named after the place "Bar Cocoa" was very poor, as if someone took fine ingredients and some how made them look Marvelous and taste CHEAP!  This was so poor we only took a few (small) bites and left the rest! 1 yelp star\n\nSame story with the Very Beautiful Tart (Chocolate and Banana) tasted very Artificial and CHEAP! less than one yelp star\n\nGelato had very little flavor 2 yelp stars at the most!\n\nWe were here last Saturday Night 4-27 for my the Dessert Part of a Birthday Celebration for my Bride!\n\nWe did not taste any of the Chocolates and would go back to see what they were like IF we lived here!',

 (u"Paradise Bakery has good food for reasonable prices, and I eat here fairly often. I particularly enjoy their salads. I don't think I've ever paid more than $10 for a lunch, which is about what I'd expect at a place like this. \n\nIt does seem like their menus have decreased lately, though. They used to have this delicious steak salad, but it is now gone, and one of the employees told me their southwest chicken caesar (also one of my favorites) is on the way out, too. Apparently Panera bought out the chain about five years ago and has been making gradual changes to the menu, which as far as I am concerned are definitely for the worse. I'll keep eating here for now, but if the menu loses too many more items which I enjoy I enjoy I may stop coming.",

 (u"Ok ok I was spoiled! I had a huge room! Living room, dining room, bedroom, 2 bathrooms, amazing view of the pyramid, etc! The first night we were in a different room facing the airport and street. Watching the planes take off and land from our bed was cool, but then came all the sirens ALL night long! So that's when we asked for a new room and were upgrade to Heaven! The beds were very comfortable and our towels were like new. We were in the Tower. Quick elevators and close to check in/out. Starbucks was right downstairs after we exited the elevators which was perfect for B'fast. We had friends who were all staying at Luxor so we hardly left. We hung out at the Flight Bar, LAX, and ate at the Steakhouse (AMAZING!) most nights. We did the Titanic and Bodies Exhibits which were really neat. My honey and I had a great 5 night stay. Some of our friends stayed in the pyramid and were NOT happy with their rooms and elevators. I normally go to LV 4 times a year and stay at the Palazzo which I love. I'm not sure I'd stay again here, but we did have a great experience. I just need to be closer to the main action on the Strip! They do have a Wedding Chapel, but I would pick Mandalay Bay before Luxor :)",
