Actually, you are somewhat incorrect on this one. During the period of time when we were left to our own devices, this server had actually been more active and l(i/o)vely than ever before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know very well that I never got aggressive with my criticism, and I'm not going to start doing that now (even though the penultimate fate of this post is fairly obvious. I just hope you'll at least read it first). And, honestly, after writing a 600-word reaction and explanation post on the website when this Discord first launched and being ignored by everyone with any official power anyway, I don't even feel like writing this, but I've been loyal to AG for years (and I'm still, even after almost a year of inactivity, the 5th-6th highest-ranking user), so I think it's sort of a responsibility of mine. I'll try to make it quick (and all in just one post†, so I'll save you a few clicks when you're deleting it).

A bit of statistics: as of this moment, this server contains (in the three public channels & to my knowledge) 35447 messages, out of which ~32k (I'm including the few hundred that have been auto-deleted because of the users' departures) were posted by half a dozen "(semi-)regulars" - Rayd (9955), AP (7385), me (6230), Yellow (5636), Kat (1182) and zeo (827). All of these regulars have already been banned or left in the past few days. You have quite literally chased away 90% of your server's activity. And even the few less-active old-timers who remain are probably going to be *even less* active without their regular sparring partners.

You already did alienate your old userbase of regulars once, when the AGU Discord server first launched and you essentially outlawed it because you felt it was a threat to forum activity - to start your own just nine months later after a sudden change of heart (and basically abandon another few months later). Now you're doing something similar again. Please, think about it a bit before doing it for the third time. It's not a good company policy.

I wanted to mourn reading through the old conversations, but in the meantime I've managed to archive the whole server, so I can't really say that anymore.
