I am a team player with problem solving skills who has positioned himself to adapt to the ever changing field of technology. I am continuously becoming better through training, personal effort and always seeking opportunities of work in fast paced environments. Through excellent interpersonal skills coupled with a naturally engaging personality, my goal is to continually increase my skills in order to present better solutions.
Through my training in school where I graduated with a Computer Science degree, I gained a wide range of practical capabilities in the field of software engineering. I am proficient in several programming languages like Python, JavaScript, ++, NodeJS, React, Ruby On Rails among others. I also have excellent knowledge in version control having used GitHub extensively during my internship as a data engineer.
Apart from software engineering, I have experience with computer graphics and I have been contracted severally by different clients to design and deploy websites, design logos and edit videos. I am proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe Audition, among others. I also have experience with Content Management Systems like Wordpress and Drupal. I also love writing, and I have engaged in content creation.
My recent engagement as a data engineering intern enabled me to gain experience with data warehousing tools like Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL databases, Amazon Redshift, Faust Python Library, Postman, and others. I was involved in deployment of data warehouses to Amazon Web Services cloud platform. I continue to learn and sharpen my skills in that field.
I have also gained a lot of experience in networking which include fiber splicing, configuring Cisco phones as well as installation and troubleshooting of switches and routers. I have been actively involved in the installation and support of SAP programs in the Kenya Electricity Generating Company.
I have worked in a factory environment when I was involved, as a casual, in the installation of CCTV cameras in tea factories and officers in Kericho and Limuru.
For me, computers weren't an obvious path that I knew I would follow. The first time I came into contact with a desktop computer I was in class six and I discovered my interest in computers. My enthusiasm for technology was confirmed in High School when I was preparing for the Kenya Science and Engineering Fair in 2013. The precision of computing suits my nature. It is problem solving at its best. I continually strive to teach myself more of it especially in the fields of networks, security and artificial intelligence. Working for National Intelligence Service is a natural choice to advance those skills.
