[02:46] Piexplode: remove 1 roadblock to any one of your pokemon sweeping and force a sweep from there

[02:46] Piexplode: the practice isn't dreafully far from the theory
[02:47] Piexplode: furthermore pursuit trapping is pretty unreliable
[02:47] ItsValor: why would it be unreliable

[02:48] Piexplode: 3 trappers
[02:48] Piexplode: aegislash
[02:48] Piexplode: scizor
[02:48] Piexplode: tyranitar
[02:48] Piexplode: focus blast is standard on gar anyway
[02:49] Piexplode: so even chople ttar
[02:49] Piexplode: is easily beaten
[02:49] Piexplode: HP Fire is run pretty often as well when scizor is popular (less so cos it's pretty bad anyway) which screws that over pretty completely
[02:49] Piexplode: and aegi is just a bad mon anyway offering nothing versus a lot of teams, as well as having its own ghost weakness
[02:49] Piexplode: and also having a pursuit trapper makes you play
[02:49] Piexplode: 5 vs 6 since
[02:49] Piexplode: to stop gar from taking out something that lets ur opp sweep
[02:50] Piexplode: ur pursuit trapper inherently offers nothing to the team that the team can't do itself
[02:50] Piexplode: and aegi in particular lacks much extra utility
[02:50] Piexplode: and it's cos of these that it's essentially you playing 5 vs 6 a lot of the time, assuming gar even goes down
[02:50] Piexplode: there is another set that works pretty nicely anyway
[02:50] Piexplode: perish trap is meh but
[02:50] Piexplode: reflect type/rest/taunt/wow
[02:51] Piexplode: screws over both scizor and ttar ez
[02:51] Piexplode: and stops aegi from being able to remove you
[02:51] Piexplode: whilst still being a harrassment to
[02:51] Piexplode: other pokemon on more defensive teams
[02:51] Piexplode: at the cost of not being able to remove some stuff like palkia
[02:51] Piexplode: from primarily (but not uniquely) offensive teams
[02:52] Piexplode: so I hope you can see how some of the arguements kind of form
[02:52] Piexplode: about it increasing the matchup reliance of the tier
[02:52] Piexplode: and also about it being such a dominating force
