  7. +DevonThing __ Yes, to *"expect"* to see curvature when so close to the surface of a "ball" that's purportedly the size of the Earth is simply dishonest.
  8.

  10.
  11. The people who *say* that should be considered suspect. That "expectation" seems to be an intentional soft ball so that a "man or woman of science" can post a witty video to show how ridiculous the expectation is (_"...and therefore the Earth is a ball!"_).
  12.
  13. Anyone I catch using specious and WEAK reasoning gets added to my list of "sophists". They are people who are not necessarily lying but they are lying by using intentionally flawed reasoning.
  14.
  15. This even relates to the video I have posted here on "Kim Hoaxashian". To anyone observing all he said was it "looked like a skirt" - he never actually asserted it was (hence "wriggle room" if confronted).
  16.
  17. But in choosing an image he MUST HAVE known it wasn't a "skirt". Therefore he chose the image *in order to misrepresent* (and that is the *crime* considering this is supposed to be a "truth" community).
  18.
  19. In the same way any flat Earth proponents who peddle the idea "where is the curvature?" when only near the surface are being disingenuous.
  20.
  21. There are more convincing and compelling aspects to focus on so it makes me wonder why they focus on *those* details if not to hand a "soft ball" to the channels which are starting to spring up to "debunk" various "conspiracy theorists".
  22.
  23. It also seems done to add to the idea "conspiracy theorists" are poor/weak thinkers and are sloppy and latch onto anything that "seems to support their case".
  24.
  25. Anyway!
  26.
  27. To be repetitive: the absence of sufficient proof is not proof of deception/fakery/fabrication. Of course, if something is fabricated/false then there won't be any sufficient proof - but its absence shouldn't be cited as a reason to go with the opposite. It's a trap.
  28.
  29. After a year of "doing this" (whatever "this" is) there are not all that many genuine people here.
  30.
  31. Just be careful you don't fall for the "flat Earth is a psyop" nonsense - it may well be - but only in the sense of having people shut down to exploring the ideas. The ideas to be found within it are ideas that have value in everything else we're doing!
