Sentinels II: Precious Cargo

The Holy Sun Empire has fallen.

Since your escape from Conqueror's Foothold and heroic defeat of the prospective Blood God Telazoth two years ago, the situation in Asathia has escalated. You worked with Alante, a cleric from the Order of Five Sacraments, a rogue faction within the Legion of Dusk, to secure the Hierophant's Chalice - thus creating a renewable source of blood for the Order and causing a schism within the Legion.

Your work with the Order has allowed you to make allies among the peoples of Asathia, taking on daring missions to foil the League's advances. But you are only one group, with one admittedly very fast ship. One by one, strongholds have been taken, and the free peoples of Asathia killed of turned.

As the assault on Buranis and the Empire began, you were contacted by Alante about an urgent, important, and lucrative job: to get to Buranis as quickly as possible, and rescue two survivors - and sail them safely past the Legion blockade, and through the Ortus Strait to Longarrow.

You arrived on Buranis shortly before the blockade solidified to keep anyone from making it off of the island. Getting your ship back out, however, will prove more complicated.

You are in the jungle, with the canopy thick above you. The stench of blood and burning has reached you, though the nearest temple is miles from here. If you could see the sky, it would be dark.

iii. You have normal starting gold for characters of your level;
iv. You have a ship. There will be sailing involved, so one or more of you may wish to invest in this;
v. I anticipate that this will take two sessions, and that neither will be hugely long.
