SDOG

<Sciencegar> The borders between the Gespenst Kingdom and the Huckebien Queendom are usually peaceful, with nothing more than general ribbing or the odd gang of youths playing a prank to raised tensions. But now, things are different.
<Sciencegar> The Lion Empire, once just 'those guys on the other side of the mountains', have invaded in  force, and are taking on the forces of both kingdoms simultaneously. At the same time, monster attacks have been on the rise, and with the movement of armies and drifts of refugees, things are tense.
<Sciencegar> So for a small roadside inn on the border crossroads, a days travel from the front lines, things aren't as merry as they usually are. Groups of Gespensts stare over their mugs at the Huckebiens on the other side of the bar, leaving a table in the middle for an unusual group.
<Sciencegar> (Yeah, You guys don't really have anywhere else to sit. Introduce yourselves, Sands character will be arriving in a while).
<OvermanXAN> A rather unusual looking Huckebein, bedecked with a visor that would have been more at home on an R-Series and a patchwork of armor additions sits down at the table, its mood unreadable.
<RickDominated> A towering Grungust sits at the middle seat of the table, nodding to the Huckebien as it sits down, its own armor ornate and etched with the sigils of the Two-In-One God. Its mood however could best be described as slightly anxious as it fingers its sword.
<Gilliam_Yaeger> Next to the Grungust, sits a person covered in a hooded cloak lounging back in its chair, feet on the table and arms behind its head.
<AdventFalls> A Gepenst took a seat next, a sword at his side and nodding at the others. "Good day."
<RickDominated> The Grungust scans the group with one eye, speaking in a surprisingly soft voice as she does so. "We are missing one other, are we not?"
<Gilliam_Yaeger> "He's really gone his time here..." the cloaked figure says, with a heavy accent.
<OvermanXAN> "Never worry, with Exbein here, nothing can go wrong!" The Huckebein poses as dramatically as it can from a seated position.
<AdventFalls> [....I'm surrounded by weirdos,] the Gepenst sighed.
<RickDominated> "...You certainly are enthusiastic." The Grungust says at length.
<OvermanXAN> "Ahhh... well... is it bad to give everything my all?"
<Sciencegar> One of the staff, a young wildschwien, comes over haltingly. "So, eh, will any of y's be wanting a drink?"
<Gilliam_Yaeger> The cloaked figure raises its hand. "Ale."
<AdventFalls> "None for me."
<RickDominated> "Wine." The Paladin says.
<OvermanXAN> "Not thirsty."
<Sciencegar> "Any food? Anything like that?" He looks back over at the very few of whom seem to be eating or drinkign in great amounts.
<AdventFalls> "I'll be fine."
<OvermanXAN> A nod of agreement
<RickDominated> "The Same."
<Sciencegar> The young lad looks rather crestfallen, but goes to get the drinks.
<RickDominated> The Grungust turns back to the assembled group, eying the Gespenst slightly.
<AdventFalls> "What?"
<RickDominated> "I am merely...curious. Are you traveling with this Huckebien?"
<OvermanXAN> "No." The Huckebien answers premptively.

<AdventFalls> "Thank goodness for that...."
<OvermanXAN> "What did you say?" The Huckebien turns its head, the visor certainly not disguising the fact that it is *glaring*
<AdventFalls> "Your ears must not be working properly." The Gepenst coughed, then announced, "THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT."
<OvermanXAN> "How *dare* you."
<RickDominated> She turns to her companion, her voice deadpan. "I appear to have started something."
<AdventFalls> "I dare, I dare," the Gepenst chuckled. "So easy to provoke!"
<Gilliam_Yaeger> The cloaked figure shrugs. "Is entertainment."
<OvermanXAN> "Hmmmph!"
<AdventFalls> The Gepenst shrugged back.
<RickDominated> "Voilitile thing."
<Sciencegar> The room seems to have gotten quieter, with more than a few from both sides watching the table.
<Sciencegar> The young Wildschwein returns with the agreed drinks, his expression a little wary.
<RickDominated> The Grungust takes the wine goblet and nods to the poor 'Schwein.
<Gilliam_Yaeger> The cloaked figure takes his own drink with an accented word of thanks, and starts drinking.
<RickDominated> "Are you both Travelers then?" The Grungust says, at least trying to strike up a conversation.
<AdventFalls> "Yes."
<OvermanXAN> "You could say that."
<RickDominated> "Not from around here, then?"
<OvermanXAN> "Not in the area, at least."
<Sciencegar> "Going to join in the fighting?" The boy asks, nonchalantly.
<RickDominated> "I am here looking into it, at least, at the behest of the Elders."
<Gilliam_Yaeger> "I just following her."
<OvermanXAN> "I'm interested in the fighting, yes."
<Sciencegar> "Right. So will ye be heading east to the front lines? Or you could go north to Gespenst lands, or South to help the Huckys..."
<AdventFalls> "Who's to say?" The Gepenst shrugged.
<RickDominated> "I am still considering the options."
<Sciencegar> "Ye can head East and then take the south road and head back home to the mountains, if ye like. Or you can sod the whole thing and go west like most folks, but I hear thats where the monsters are showing up now."
<OvermanXAN> "I think I'd best abstain. My bias is obvious."
<Sciencegar> "I even hear take of wild dragons about, but I dunno if there anything to that."
<RickDominated> "If thats where the monsters are appearing...I feel that would be the best place to start."
<OvermanXAN> "... That does seem logical..."
<AdventFalls> "I'm game for whatever."
<RickDominated> "...Are we all of similar goals then?"
<Sciencegar> "...Rather fight beasts than mechs, eh?"
<OvermanXAN> "It's more a matter of preparing."
<AdventFalls> The Gepenst shrugged.
<RickDominated> "True... Either Option could prove valuable."
<Sciencegar> The young barman seems confused, but nods. Around the room, there are mutterings of similar confusion, and annoyance
<Sandwitches> A crash echoes out form high above as something Heavy smashes into the roof.  After a couple seconds it begins to rool and goes rolling off the ground, hitting the gorund outside with a loud thud.
<OvermanXAN> "That's something you don't see every day."
<RickDominated> The Grungust just takes a long sip from its goblet, deftly manuvering it out of the way of some falling building materials. "I feel that we should investigate that." She rises.
<Gilliam_Jaeger> The hooded figure nods, and stands up.
<Sciencegar> Most of the bar patrons seem reluctant to move, even the barmech is hesitant, holding his tray like a shield. He seems relieved that someone else is going to check.
<OvermanXAN> The Huckebein gets up as well, its expression stern.
<RickDominated> The Paladin is first out, massive metalshod fist fist on the hilt of her sword.
<Gilliam_Jaeger> The cloaked mech is second, apparantly unarmed but nonetheless confident.
<AdventFalls> The Gepenst blinked, his own hand goingto his sword.
<Sandwitches> Lying in a heap just outside the door is a unmoving sleek black Gespenset.
<AdventFalls> "...The heck?"
<Gilliam_Jaeger> "I think they fell off roof."
<RickDominated> The Grungust bends down to inspect it.
<OvermanXAN> "Is it okay?"

<Sandwitches> The Gespenst shudders and slips a hand underneath itself, slowly pushing itself up to it's knees.

<Sandwitches> The Gespenst shakes it's head as it rises to it's feet.  "Where am I?"
<RickDominated> "The Happy Crossroads Inn."
<OvermanXAN> "Convienently located a short travel from the nearest place to die gloriously!"
<AdventFalls> "You have an odd definition of 'convieniently'."
<Sandwitches> "...  And who are you?"
<RickDominated> "RyuJinKi, Paladin Errant of the Two-In-One God." She answers without hesitation.
<Gilliam_Jaeger> "This one is called Agares."
<AdventFalls> "ArTutRa."
<OvermanXAN> "EXbein"
<Sandwitches> "I... see."
<Sciencegar> There's a rustle from the bushes by the side of the road, and several high-pitched voices call out.
<Sciencegar> "The light came from there!!"
<Sciencegar> "It must be the thing Boss wants!"
<Sciencegar> "Where is it?"
<Sciencegar> "They must have it!!"
<AdventFalls> "....Uh, what?"
<Sciencegar> And from the undergrowth emerge nearly a dozen Lions, brandishing wicked spears, and advancing on the group in the Inns yard.
