Doloris: Enter..?

<Eidigo> So, are the files done downloading yet? He's been waiting for a while, and is starting to get bored.
<theDM> Checking your computer, you see that they've finally finished downloading
<Doloris> I open my download, running the client program
<theDM> A simple, black text box appears on your screen
<theDM> "Waiting for server connection..."
<theDM> Looks like you'll need someone else
<Eidigo> He runs the Server, still unsure on what it does.
<theDM> A prompt pops up
<theDM> "Enter client handle"
<Eidigo> Client handle? He's not sure what this is about.
<Eidigo> He goes over to the memo, and just inputs the first name he sees:
<Eidigo> "unfortunatelyEnlightened"
<theDM> Doloris sees the text box change as you do
<theDM> "fearlessMeddler would like to be your server"
<theDM> "Accept? Y/N"
<Doloris> After reviewing the memo logs, I click "N". If we have a choice here I'd rather not be partnered with that guy in particular
<theDM> Eidigo gets this message: "unfortunatelyEnlightened has rejected your server request"
<Eidigo> "huh"
<theDM> "Attempt Reconnection? Y/N"
<Eidigo> Y
<theDM> Now Doloris gets a message
<theDM> "fearlessMeddler has attempted reconnection"
<theDM> "Accept? Y/N"
<Doloris> Once again, I hit "N"
<theDM> "unfortunatelyEnlightened has rejected your reconnection request"
<theDM> "Force Connection? Y/N"
<Eidigo> "yeah, fuck this guy"
<Eidigo> "Y"
<theDM> "fearlessMeddler has forced a connection!"
<theDM> Then, for both of you, the text box disappears
<theDM> Nothing new appears on Doloris' screen, but Eidigo's changes dramatically, and what he sees is... strange
<theDM> You see a human male, standing in front of his computer, in a room like yours
<Doloris> "What kind of UI offers the user a choice if it just gives the server override powers anyways?" I wonder
<Eidigo> He pokes the human. with his cursor.
<theDM> However, his dresser is an exploded mess, and his bed has some kind of ropes bound to the post
<theDM> There is also a UI with several options at the top
<theDM> "Move, Revise, Deploy, Phernalia Registry, Grist Cache, and Atheneum"
<theDM> As well as options for moving around
<theDM> Doloris abjures the meddlesome cursor, probably
<Doloris> "WHAT THE FUCK?" I yell in confusion, gratuitously abjuring the mysterious cursor
<Eidigo> "hahaha look at this idiot"
<Eidigo> Eidigo clicks on Phernalia Registry.
<theDM> You see an array of machines, most of which you can't afford
<Eidigo> "the hellis phernalia"
<theDM> But you see that there are three machines and one captchalogue card that are free for the taking
<Doloris> I sweep the area with my eyes for any sign of the mysterious intruding force
<theDM> You got nothing
<Eidigo> Eidigo takes the first machine and places it right in front of the human
<Eidigo> "lets see if this spooks him more"
<theDM> Doloris is suddenly face to face with a large, white machine. It's bluky and square, with a thick cylinder in the center, a black, metal wheel on the side of the tube, and a timer on each of the sides
<Doloris> "AH!"
<Doloris> I jump back in surprise
<Eidigo> Eidigo is really loving his discomfort.
<Eidigo> He takes the skinny machine and tries to sneak it behind the human.
<Doloris> (There's a computer desk there)
<theDM> There is a computer desk there, so placing it there does not work
<Eidigo> "ahh damnit"
<Eidigo> He decides to just spook him with the card instead, dropping it on top of him.
<theDM> Doloris gets bopped in the head with something that amounts to a large piece of cardboard
<theDM> ...With holes in it
<Doloris> Although I'm startled, my reaction is less to the sudden card, only looking up and seeing if I can find where it came from
<theDM> It just appeared there. On top of your head
<Eidigo> Eidigo moves one room back and tries to place both remaining machines in there.
<theDM> First, you would be able to place all of the machines in this room if you so wished
<Doloris> Alright, I must be hallucinating. Smoke inhalation maybe? Yeah that makes sense
<Eidigo> oh yeah, he does that.
<Eidigo> all of em in the one room.
<theDM> Doloris' attention is drawn by two more loud thuds, behind him
<theDM> Two more machines in his room
<theDM> One, long and thin with a slot on the side, and a sideways platform that looks to fit a kind of cylinder
<Doloris> Yup. Just going crazy due to oxygen deprivation. Time to lie down and wait for the world to make sense
<Eidigo> Eidigo pokes the laying human.
<Eidigo> repeatedly.
<theDM> The second, another large, square machine, a large, circular platform taking up most of it, with a long, tall tube-arm and a raised, smaller platform
<theDM> Doloris gets *so* poked
<Doloris> Doloris curls up in a ball on the bed and groans
<Eidigo> to see if it freaks him out, eidigo taps in morse code "SOS"
<Doloris> If Doloris knew morse code, he'd probably respond somehow, but he doesn't so... he just continues to be curled up and inert
<theDM> The timer ticks down on the first machine
<theDM> 3:20
<theDM> 2:58
<Eidigo> Eidigo gets bored of poking and tries to shake the bed with the cursor.
<theDM> It lets you pick the bed up, at the cost of 5 build grist
<Doloris> Just keep your eyes closed and your body still till the shaking goes away
<theDM> 1:23
<Eidigo> Eidigo picks up the bed and tries to crack it in half over the machine with the cylinder in the midde.
<theDM> The top pops up, and a flash of white fills your vision for a moment as Doloris is covered with light pink cylinders of crystal, and a flashing seizure orb begins to fly around the room
<theDM> Doloris' bed also cracks in half, falling to either side
<theDM> 1:02
<Eidigo> "what the fuck"
<Doloris> Doloris doesn't move from the floor
<theDM> The orb obnoxiously flashes in Doloris' face
<Eidigo> Eidigo picks up the pillow from the bed and tries to hit the seizure orb with it
<theDM> Roll Dex

<theDM> The pillow misses the orb by an inch
<Eidigo> He tries again.

<theDM> The pillow is absorbed into the flashing orb, which now not only has a pillow instead of a spirograph on its face, but also seems increasingly concerned over the ticking timer

<theDM> The pillow kernel flashes at Doloris again as a feeling of dread begins to seep into the room
<Doloris> Doloris tries to ignore the flashing and opening his eyes, crawl his way towards the room's door. Seeing if he can't get fresh oxygen from the other room
<theDM> The door does not open, but something begins to come through
<theDM> Creeping backness pulses and pushes itself through the seams of the door, snaking along the ground as it gets inside
<theDM> :20
<theDM> As it moves faster and faster, seeping down the walls now, too, it begins to touch your hand
<theDM> And where it touches, all feeling disappears
<theDM> You can no longer feel your hand, nor your arm as it slithers its way further upward

<Eidigo> Does Eidigo see the same thing?
<Doloris> That's probably my losing consciousness. I ignore the numbness and start slamming my shoulder againat the door
<theDM> The darkness grabs onto you, clinging you tightly to the door after the first time you slam into it
<theDM> Your shoulder begins to tingle, then go numb as well

<theDM> It continues to cover your body, your sprite flipping out as the living darkness begins to encompass the entire room
