  1. You’ve always been clumsy. You drop things, bump into people, and knock things over. It’s your least favorite thing about yourself, and even though you laugh it off, inside you simmer and boil with frustration. It bothers you so much that you start avoiding situations where others might notice, refusing to go to social events. You see an ad on TV and make an appointment with a physical therapist who specializes in fine motor control improvement. Having estranged all your friends, no one can give you a ride to the doc. Instead, you walk. It isn’t that far. On your way you keep your clumsiness in mind, avoiding things that might cause you issues. You’re almost there and you trip on a stair. You manage to prevent yourself from falling, barely, and continue. Proud of yourself and confident you are on the road to a better life, you walk in. At the end of the visit, the doctor reluctantly says he can’t do anything for you. Trying to keep a stiff upper lip, and encouraged by your earlier success, you leave. The step that almost got the best of you before comes up. You tumble down the stairs and land in a heap. Trigger as you realize you’re stuck with this problem forever.
