  1. Greetings, former players of VWH-RP!
  2.
  3. We are thrilled to see you here and eager to have you join us on our World of Darkness Roleplay adventure. Before we begin, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the history of World of Darkness in SA-MP and share our vision for this server.
  4.
  5. We are aware that World of Darkness in SA-MP is no longer a new thing, and there have been many attempts to resurrect the community in the past, which have seen temporary success just to meet a failure later on. However, we are certain without a shadow of a doubt that we know the issues that failed these attempts time after time. With that in mind, I Lirbo have decided to take matters into my own hands and craft a community with those issues ironed out.
  6.
  7. Let us talk about the core issue that plagued the previous attempts. That issue is no other than the "Skystaring Syndrom", when players are staring at the skies and nothing is going, people tabbing in and out and everyone seem to be AFK. In order to solve that we have not added a way to gain experience by farming hours, we truly believe that this system in VWH-RP was nothing but a huge self-sabotaging system. Additionally we have integrated unique script-systems that have never been seen before, such as a cooking system, potion brewing for Numina Alechemists and a lot more. Another thing that we have added is the ability to gain Experience through grinding script-jobs (also, did we mention that they are fully balanced and they are all worth of your time?). One more thing that we have added are different questlines for different races, these are automatic and handled by NPCs just like in VTMB. Finally, we have forged an amazing background lore to the chronicle and added NPCs that players will be able to interact and roleplay with (e.g the Camarilla Prince, Sheriff, Harpy, Elysium Keeper, etc..). By gaining these NPCs favors you might be able to get some interesting perks.
  8.
  9. Another core issue that existed is the "Battlechad Plague", meaning most players were trying to go for combat-oriented characters only. While I, Lirbo, personally have always despised this, I could fully understand why it was happening. The World of Darkness is a big place and it sure welcomes many different Races, however some of them are sabotaging the progression of other to the extreme by the fact that they simply exist. These races are mainly Mages and Demons. The issue with these two is that they both immune to Mind/emotion-altering powers, rendering all of the Social (and also some Mental) powers of other races completely useless. When characters can't do anything with their Social powers all there is left is becoming a battlechad, why would you spend your hard earned Experience points on something that won't help you after all? To address this, we have decided to ban these races entirely and permanently from our chronicle. Our chronicle is primarily based on Humans, Hunters, Vampires, Werewolves, and whatever is in-between them (Learn to read between the lines).
  10. In order to further promote social roleplay we have implemented a very unforgiving system for Veil Lifting (Masquerade Breaching), details can be seen on the House Rules on our forums.
  11.
  12. Additionally, unlike the previous communities, we are religiously sticking to the book and we don't "think", we know, that house-rules are best kept as minimal as possible. We have spotted countless mistakes and even a whole race being played incorrectly in the previous communities, we are quite shocked that the moderators of these races even let this happen.
  13. Regardless, as mentioned previously all characters must follow the Character Creation process detailed in their race's corebook to the letter! Meaning not only balanced characters are going to be enforced with an iron fist by race moderators, also no player may start below 9th Generation/Cliath/Conviction 5, etc..
  14.
  15. Lastly, we have integrated an Anti Min-Maxing system, meaning that characters with balanced character sheets are going to be automatically rewarded by the system with Experience to cover the loss of the "potential XP" that they lost by properly allocating their character sheet. This XP will be slowly given by the system during active play (only when the system detects that you are actually roleplaying).
  16.
  17. Another issue that we have noticed with the previous communities (specifically when they used FN-RP's script) was the lack of polish and feeling like everything is done in a half-assed way, in other words everything felt clunky. While we are confident players managed to do just fine also without it, it was still a big blow to the show and the overall experience of that server. Therefore we are relentlessly working to polish our systems and make them as smooth and as cognitive as possible.
  18.
  19. We are tirelessly working on improving our systems and ironing out any bug that we can possibly find, though please acknowledge that it is only natural that players might encounter some bugs as the server is being released, after all it is still fresh from the nylons. If you do happen to find a bug please report it to us and we will make sure to reward you (depending on the severity of the bug).
  20.
  21.
  22.
  23. Dear former players of VWH-RP,
  24.
  25. We extend our warmest greetings and are delighted to have you consider joining us on our World of Darkness Roleplay adventure. Before we commence, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the history of World of Darkness in SA-MP and share our vision for this server.
  26.
  27. We understand that World of Darkness in SA-MP is no longer a novelty, and there have been several attempts to revive the community in the past. Although some of these attempts showed temporary success, they eventually failed due to recurring issues. We are confident that we have identified these issues and are committed to crafting a community that addresses them.
  28.
  29. One of the core issues that plagued previous attempts is the "Skystaring Syndrome," which refers to the tendency of players to idly stare at the sky without engaging in any activity. To address this, we have eliminated the farming hours system, as we believe that this system in VWH-RP was a significant impediment to the community's success. Instead, we have incorporated unique script-systems that have never been seen before, such as a cooking system, potion brewing for Numina Alechemists, and more. Additionally, we have provided the opportunity to gain experience through grinding script-jobs, which are fully balanced and worthwhile. Furthermore, we have added different questlines for different races, which are automatic and handled by NPCs similar to VTMB. Finally, we have developed an impressive background lore to the chronicle and added NPCs that players can interact with and roleplay with, such as the Camarilla Prince, Sheriff, Harpy, and Elysium Keeper. Players may gain NPC's favors that offer interesting perks.
  30.
  31. Another critical issue that existed is the "Battlechad Plague," which refers to the overemphasis on combat-oriented characters by most players. Although personally, I, Lirbo, have always disapproved of this trend, I can fully understand why it was prevalent. The World of Darkness is vast and diverse, and many different races inhabit it. However, some races have sabotaged the progression of others to an extreme degree simply by existing. These races are mainly Mages and Demons. The issue with these two is that they are both immune to Mind/emotion-altering powers, rendering all of the Social (and also some Mental) powers of other races completely useless. When characters cannot use their Social powers, the only option left is to become a battlechad. Why would you spend your hard-earned Experience points on something that won't help you after all? To address this, we have decided to permanently ban these races entirely from our chronicle. Our chronicle primarily focuses on Humans, Hunters, Vampires, Werewolves, and whatever exists in between them (Learn to read between the lines).
  32. To promote social roleplay further, we have implemented an unforgiving Veil Lifting (Masquerade Breaching) system, which is detailed in the House Rules on our forums.
  33.
  34. In contrast to previous communities, we strictly adhere to the book and believe that house-rules are best kept to a minimum. We have noticed numerous mistakes and even a whole race being played incorrectly in previous communities, and we are astonished that moderators allowed it to happen. As mentioned earlier, all characters must follow the Character Creation process detailed in their race's corebook to the letter! This means that race moderators will enforce balanced characters with an iron fist, and no player may start below 9th Generation/Cliath/Conviction 5, etc.
  35.
  36. Furthermore, to ensure that characters are properly balanced, we allow players to purchase Merits with Experience throughout gameplay, just like Backgrounds. This means that we encourage players to spend most of their Freebies on their Character Sheet during character creation. However, we caution players that race moderators will deny characters who apply for too many Merits or Backgrounds upon character creation, so it's important to keep a balance in mind.
  37.
  38. Finally, We have implemented an Anti Min-Maxing system that prevents players from excessively optimizing their character's abilities. This system considers factors such as the character's race and allocation of Starting Points. To compensate for the "lost XP-value" caused by properly allocating the CS, the system rewards characters with Experience, which is gradually awarded during active play. As a special offer for our returning players, you can redeem the promo code "VWH-WOD" in-game using the command /code, and receive 500 Gold (Premium Currency) to enhance your gaming experience.
  39.
  40. One major issue we have identified in previous communities, particularly those using FN-RP's script, is the lack of polish and the feeling that everything was done in a half-hearted way. This resulted in a clunky experience for players, despite their ability to adapt and make do with what was available. We recognize that this can be detrimental to the overall enjoyment of the server, and as such, we are committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience for all our players.
  41.
  42. To this end, we are constantly working to improve our systems and iron out any bugs that we can possibly find. Of course, we understand that with any new release, there may be some bugs that players encounter, but we encourage you to report any issues you come across to us. Depending on the severity of the bug, we may even offer rewards for reporting it. Our goal is to ensure that the server runs as smoothly as possible, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us achieve that.
