  8. Justin,
  9.
  10. Thanks I will definitely call you soon, but in the interest of transparency, would you mind answering the two questions first?
  11.
  12. 1) what is the list? (I think this should be transparent! specifically how many of the 8 are white males? I think this is a valid concern - may be totally off about this
  13. misrepresentation but I only know about Dallas and Justin as being tweeters, although now I know Dwayne is also one of the 8 people with tweet access...)
  14.
  15. 2) regarding the process for rotating people in and out, I am actually more concerned with how people are rotated OUT so that the new people can have a chance to more directly tweet, the nature of tweeting is that one has to have access to tweet directly sometimes.
  16.
  17.
  18. also for the record, I am not interested in being an official tweeter although I am sure other people are ... I am asking these questions out of concern for the movement, because I have noticed problems with both the process for people getting 'on board' and the tweet contents.
  19.
  20. As I mentioned this is an extremely powerful tool in information dissemination and raising awareness on specific hard-hitting issues (which i believe your team is not tweeting sufficiently) with 101,413 and counting.
  21.
  22. Thanks,
  23.

  52. 1) justin has the list2) you are in the process now....express interest, introduce yourself, in person or virtual meeting, explain the types of tweets you want to include. there is a group email for tweetboat, I believe. Justin will expand on this.
  53. It is likely that new voices begin to tweet to the approval queue for a little while to see the style, flavor and make sure our tweetsoup is tasty and filling
  54. in all the right ways.

  58. still, my questions both remain:
  59. 1) who are the current 8 people?2) what is the process for rotating people in and out of that group of 8 people?
  60. I would prefer if you could respond over email since I cannot make the meeting on
  61. Wednesday.

  65. Abe,
  66. We have a process that allows us to add others to the tweet boat, to have them create tweets, and then we monitor and help develop their voices through a process of coaching, editing and scheduling them. So, instead of a free for all, we have a bit of a gated process for this.
  67. Who do you suggest? or what kind of tweets are you thinking are missing?

  75.
  76. Absolutely, Abe.
  77. In December, the #TweetBoat had a meeting 2 invite new folks to tweet & experiment with Hootsuite for collaborative team
  78. tweeting.
  79. As a result, there are now 8 people that have complete access to the account & 10 more that contribute by cueing up tweets that are approved by those 8.
  80. It's not a perfect system yet, but we are learning and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Still there are improvements to be made.
  81. We are having another open #TweetBoat mtg this Wednesday, 10pm, at the #OccupiedOffice, to talk about those improvements.
  82. I encourage anyone who's interested in how we use twitter to engage occupiers and the broader world out there to come with their ideas.
  83. Cheers,
  84. Justin

  87. Justin,
  88.
  89. Who currently has access to tweet on @occupywallstNYC ?
  90.
  91. Although I think you have done a great job at building this twitter account, I am concerned that the group who has access to tweet has been too stagnant (not rotating people through enough to ensure a diversity of voices).
  92.
  93. This account is extremely powerful as a voice for the movement, with 101,400 followers and counting.
  94.
  95. Would you be willing to change the rules of the account to rotate tweeters through, especially focusing on having people from groups that are marginalized due to gender/race/gender-identity/socioeconomic level and others?
  96.
  97. I believe that since this is such a major PR outlet for OWS
  98. NYC and the Movement at large, it should be transparent and leaderless (in the sense that no one person or small set of people have complete control over the account.)
  99.
  100. Thanks!
  101.
  102. Abe
