- Justin,
- Thanks I will definitely call you soon, but in the interest of transparency, would you mind answering the two questions first?
- 1) what is the list? (I think this should be transparent! specifically how many of the 8 are white males? I think this is a valid concern - may be totally off about this
- misrepresentation but I only know about Dallas and Justin as being tweeters, although now I know Dwayne is also one of the 8 people with tweet access...)
- 2) regarding the process for rotating people in and out, I am actually more concerned with how people are rotated OUT so that the new people can have a chance to more directly tweet, the nature of tweeting is that one has to have access to tweet directly sometimes.
- also for the record, I am not interested in being an official tweeter although I am sure other people are ... I am asking these questions out of concern for the movement, because I have noticed problems with both the process for people getting 'on board' and the tweet contents.
- As I mentioned this is an extremely powerful tool in information dissemination and raising awareness on specific hard-hitting issues (which i believe your team is not tweeting sufficiently) with 101,413 and counting.
- Thanks,
- Abe

- Abe,
- We have a process that allows us to add others to the tweet boat, to have them create tweets, and then we monitor and help develop their voices through a process of coaching, editing and scheduling them. So, instead of a free for all, we have a bit of a gated process for this.
- Who do you suggest? or what kind of tweets are you thinking are missing?

- Absolutely, Abe.
- In December, the #TweetBoat had a meeting 2 invite new folks to tweet & experiment with Hootsuite for collaborative team
- tweeting.
- As a result, there are now 8 people that have complete access to the account & 10 more that contribute by cueing up tweets that are approved by those 8.
- It's not a perfect system yet, but we are learning and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Still there are improvements to be made.
- We are having another open #TweetBoat mtg this Wednesday, 10pm, at the #OccupiedOffice, to talk about those improvements.
- I encourage anyone who's interested in how we use twitter to engage occupiers and the broader world out there to come with their ideas.
- Cheers,

- Justin,
- Who currently has access to tweet on @occupywallstNYC ?
- Although I think you have done a great job at building this twitter account, I am concerned that the group who has access to tweet has been too stagnant (not rotating people through enough to ensure a diversity of voices).
- This account is extremely powerful as a voice for the movement, with 101,400 followers and counting.
- Would you be willing to change the rules of the account to rotate tweeters through, especially focusing on having people from groups that are marginalized due to gender/race/gender-identity/socioeconomic level and others?
- I believe that since this is such a major PR outlet for OWS
- NYC and the Movement at large, it should be transparent and leaderless (in the sense that no one person or small set of people have complete control over the account.)
- Thanks!
- Abe
