#PastebinMonday 01/08/2024 Vices Left to Conquer Edition

'Sup, doods!

I've branded 2024 as The Year of Doing to motivate me to get some important stuff done for the stream and my channel—and the LPS channel. It's led me to experimenting with a new toy I've always wanted to try that will have an impact on the upcoming Super Puzzle Fighter tournament. I might need to play in it to make the show possible, but toys are meant to be played with and I have been invigorated to play with this toy. I'm going to be delayed in fixing my own stream, but I hope that I get some ideas for executing my own stream's vision.

That said, 2024 has also motivated me to overeat. I've gained five pounds in the last two weeks. Ease of access to packaged food is a dangerous thing. Cheese and salty foods are going to be the end of me, I swear. I may watch what I eat on my current “see food” diet, but the least I can do is lay off the chips.

I've also stumbled onto a new gacha game to waste my time with on my phone. Fortunately, it's not Fate/GO, but the game I discovered does make me think that gacha games, as a whole, were a mistake. So much for removing distractions.

I guess I'm trying to find a balance between consumption and creation because I can't go without either cold turkey. Right now, I'm failing in that regard. As soon as I run into any sort of difficulty or tedium, my mind runs away to some form of comfort. Again, probably an access thing. I could try cutting off YouTube at my home desk for a week to see if that does anything for me. That will be a very tall order, though. Guess I still have some vices left to conquer...

Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals (actual priority is in constant flux):

Goal #5: make a universal LPS broadcast layout that can be quickly adapted to multiple games. All things considered, this is going to be powered through this week.
Goal #6: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting everything ready to edit is the big thing I hope to get done before the next Tetris Attack tournament, but I'm really cutting it close.
Goal #7: clean up my own stream layout. I am brainstorming how I want the final theming to be. I probably want to give people multiple options, maybe allow spending bits to change the look. I don't have anything written down yet. I don't expect to get to this anytime soon and I really need to stop thinking about how long I've been neglecting this.
Goal #8: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.

Streams are on hold until I accomplish these goals (or February 2). Anything I decide to do will be of the guerilla variety and have very little notice. There would probably have to be community races of some sort in order to get this to happen.
