  1. THEO
  2. >Ability
  3. At some point in the story, she accesses an artifact that gives her "Instant recombination." Able to "think" incredibly fast. Able to recombinate all facts and information she recieves incredibly quickly to asses probablities, risks, and motivations of anything. Able to glean every single facet of international dynamics, hidden agendas, and malicious negligence from a stroll through the mall or a few minutes of internet access.
  4. >Drawback
  5. This comes in fits, only sometimes is she in this state. When she's in this state she seems oblivious to the outside world and zombie-like. She has to be dragged along with the group in case they need to ask her for something.
  6. >How she deals
  7. When she isn't in this state she is depressed and nihilistic. Not "God's not real morty" nihilistic, but just completely despondent. When not in a fit, she doesn't have the instant thinking power, but she remembers critical thinking techniques and shit so she's still good at thinking. There are times where she sits and watches her friends get fucked up by demons because "there was nothing I could do." There are one or two mystery episodes where her power is suppressed: in one they have to race to unfuck her powers to find the answer, and in another they have to solve it themselves. Not to mention the countless times where she happens to be in a fit at the time and states the answer and a plan as soon as she hears the problem.
  8. In the s1 finale, she realizes that love and friendship are good enough to make life worth living, and starts giving her all for her friends even in situations she knows to be hopeless.
  9.
  10. JOSE
  11. >Ability
  12. At some point gets cursed to become a werewolf. When the full moon climbs over the horizon, day or night, he transforms into an immense, incoherent, shaggy demon and destroys everything in his path.
  13. >Drawback
  14. No, he can't tf into a bara furry at will. This is real-style chain-me-up-and-if-i-get-out-shoot-me lycanthropy. He is completely incoherent while in this state with no magic translator and no wolfsbane, garlic, or silver that can keep him human. He has to flee from his family and imprison himself every month and he has constant nightmares about hurting the people he loves. To him, the most horrific parts about his nightmares is how much he enjoys them.
  15. >How he deals
  16. He has the most purpose out of anyone in the group. He's dedicated to find a way to cure himself and protect his family. He is the most productive, but he constantly quarrels with his friends for not pulling enough weight. Because of him and the team working tohether to keep him controlled, he never escapes or kills anyone while turned, but there is one time they drop his cage into an area populated with demons. He doesn't find a cure for his lycanthropy in the first season, but he starts lifting to hopefully be able to use his strength while he's still cognizant.
  17.
  18. ERIC
  19. >Ability
  20. None. He's unbroken.
  21. >Drawbacks
  22. He is looked down apon by the other kids. He is originally the joker of the group, but as situations got more grim his friends started to like him less. He isn't a joker like "hold on we have to come up with a witty pun for him to say at this moment", he's just really charismatic and knows how to turn a mood in his favor most of the time.
  23. >How he deals
  24. He is the only one without any actual drawbacks, so as his friends deal with harder shit they begin to estrange him. In the finale the group finally starts to respect him again and the team goes back to being a cohesive unit. He makes bodily sacrifices in the finale, he is the first one to be seriously injured fighting with a demon. S2E1 takes place in the hospital during his recovery.
  25.
  26. TODD
  27. >Ability
  28. He's the one that made the deal with the demons. During the season, he makes small sabotages of his friends' plans and reports information to the demon army. He's been to "hell" multiple times.
  29. >Drawback
  30. During the season he is aloof, but that's because he is distancing himself from his friends because of how torn he feels. He stays up at night thinking about how hr's hurting his friends to protect them from harm. He is really the most emotionally expressive of the group, but it only comes out when he and his friends are doing something fun together that makes him forget about all the demons and lies. He might help Jose with building traps and shit, but secretly put weaknesses in them, or give phones to each of his friends for communication, but put demonic trackers on them. He is not evil, he spends as much effort sabotaging his friends as he does sabotaging his own sabotages.
  31. >How he deals
  32. In the season 1 finale, he betrays back the demons, leading to the team successfully destroying an important demon base/artifact that allowed them to get to/control people on the surface world easily. Now in season 2 they hit less frequently, but they send harder demons.
  33. He tearfully admits he has been causing most of the bad luck that has been happening, and Jose almost turns on him, but then they come up with a plan to destroy the demon base that, with some character-developing sacrifices being made, eventually succeeds. In season two, since he knows all about the demon hierarchy, he acts as an informant for the first half, until his information starts to get outdated.
  34.
  35. Demons respawn when they die at the demon core thing, and no humans are hurt in the first season except for eric, so they dont actually do any real killing, but it does subvert normal action show violence. They are fighting to save the human race from extinction, and brush with death almost every episode, but that causes incredible mental and emotional strain on normal humans. The show should explore themes of PTSD, studying the experiences of actual survivors of war, violent crime, and paranormal(even if there's no such thing in real life) experiences.
