  1. >You don't know when it happened
  2. >But it did
  3. >Your dreams have changed
  4. >No longer are you playing in the woods as a young child with your friends
  5. >Now, all you can see are dead trees, overgrown with moss and vines
  6. >All you can hear is
  7. >...
  8. >Actually, you can't hear anything
  9. >Your surroundings are as silent as death
  10. >Soon enough, you're shivering from the cold
  11. >Suddenly, a twig snaps
  12. >Before you can react, your scenery changes
  13. >You are on a clifftop
  14. >One that seems eerily familiar
  15. >You can't place why, but you recognize it
  16. >As you walk around, you start imagining the structures of a massive building
  17. >As you imagine them, they appear
  18. >Slowly at first, but you keep imagining things
  19. >Almost as if you remember them
  20. >Not long after, you find yourself wandering a castle
  21. >A grand achievement of architecture surrounds you
  22. >The walls twist, bend, and warp around in ways that seem impossible
  23. >There are places where you can put your feet in these sockets every here and there and walk up and around the walls
  24. >You don't even care that you're the only one here
  25. >You can't believe that you are diagonally upside down, high in the air, looking down at a ballroom
  26. >These walls would go up, bend in loops, and be straight again, forming a very strange warped dome-like shape at the top
  27. >With a grand sense of adventure, you begin exploring the castle
  28. >Oddly enough, you seem to know where everything is
  29. >You walk straight to the kitchen
  30. >And directly to the laboratory
  31. >Even though getting there required walking against gravity through various loops and twists near the ceiling
  32. >And up (or down?) a similarly impossible flight of stairs
  33. >Good thing these foothold things are everywhere
  34. >The lab itself is super odd
  35. >Like the rest of the castle, the floor itself is normal, while the walls and ceiling are extremely bendy
  36. >But here, every table is set up in just the right spot to have a clear vantage point from every angle
  37. >Even hanging upside down on the ceiling
  38. >Every beaker, bottle, and box is empty, but somehow you get the feeling that someone was working on inter dimensional gateways
  39. >You don't know why you think that, but you do
  40. >Especially odd considering that this looks more like a place fitting to analyse chemicals and atomic level stuff
  41. >With a shrug, you leave that room and resume aimlessly wandering the place
  42. >In one particular hallway, you're horizontal with the floor, about 16 feet up, when you see something
  43. >A door
  44. >A perfectly normal, rectangular door
  45. >All the others you've come across were warped to fit the surrounding walls
  46. >Curious, you make your way to it
  47. >Upon closer inspection, it resembles the door of your own home...
  48. I wonder if...
  49. >You open it, unprepared for what you encounter
  50. >You're looking at the floor area of a balcony
  51. >Only this balcony is above your head, and below it is nothing but air for easily miles down
  52. >For reasons unknown, you decide to step into the footholds it provides
  53. >When you do, you notice something peculiar
  54. >The effect wasn't very intense in the castle, but here, the world looks so different upside down
  55. >As you stand/hang there, a wind blows
  56. >It came from your left, where some much smaller mountains lie
  57. >Wait
  58. >Mountains?
  59. >A look around you tells you that yes, you've been exploring an odd castle at the edge of a cliff on the top of the highest mountain
  60. >In fact, it looked pretty similar to something else you've seen recently
  61. >But you can't place it
  62. >Oh well
  63. >No helping that
  64. >You turn and re open the door, and find another puzzle piece
  65. >It doesn't go back to where you first saw it
  66. >It now leads to a set of stairs that extended every direction except down, with footholds galore
  67. >Loosely surrounded by a more or less circular wall
  68. >Curiosity now piqued, you follow them
  69. >As you climb, something starts nagging at you
  70. >You still know, somewhere deep in your brain that this is a dream, but something is still bothering you
  71. >Why is it so easy to stay upside down and sideways on these walls?
  72. >It feels as though you only barely need them
  73. >But that wasn't what the nagging feeling is about though
  74. >It's about something else
  75. >Something you can't place your finger on...
  76. >You begin to hum a little tune to yourself, not knowing or caring what it was
  77. >Just something to distract you
  78. >Finally, you come to the end of the stairs and see another plain rectangular door
  79. >Well, almost
  80. >This one is wedged sideways into the wall
  81. >You reach to open it, but that nagging feeling hits you again
  82. >You just can't seem to shake it off
  83. >You open the door, and step into a plain room
  84. >Just like a regular room, this one has straight walls and a flat roof
  85. >Further inspection reveals that furnishings are sparse here
  86. >Just a bed, a dresser, a mirror, a nightstand, and a connecting bathroom
  87. >Quite like your guest quarters back at Chrysalis's place
  88. >The only thing on the wall is a huge oil painting
  89. >...
  90. >Of a scene you somehow recognize
  91. >A large lake on the plateau of a mountain
  92. Wha....
  93. >You turn your attention away from the paining to try to think about it
  94. >That nagging feeling is growing stronger by the minute
  95. >Something about this whole place
  96. >There's something you should know
  97. >Something...
  98. >You glance at the nightstand and notice a picture frame
  99. The odd feeling turning into a pit of fear
  100. >With trembling hands, you pick it up and look at the photo
  101. >What you see almost makes you throw it away in shock
  102. No...
  103. >It's you
  104. >You, standing next to the entrance of the castle
  105. >And you're not alone
  106. >Next to you is a unicorn with a large crown
  107. >He looked a little taller than you, and his coat a dark blue, almost black
  108. >With an short mane glowing like a fire
  109. >Whoever he was, he looked
  110. Familiar
  111. >You think aloud
  112. >Without warning, something starts rushing into your brain
  113. >Memories
  114. >Of you
  115. >And that pony in the picture
  116. >So many memories that you can't even process them
  117. AAAAHHH!
  118. >You drop the picture, and drop down to your knees
  119. >The pain is almost unbearable
  120. >Your head feels like it's splitting open
  121. >Just before it feels like it does, it stops
  122. >Sudden realization hits you, and all these memories connect
  123. >This was your castle
  124. >That pony...
  125. >He was your friend
  126. >He helped you build this castle
  127. >His name...
  128. >His name
  129. >....
  130. >!!
  131. Ibaje
  132. >You breath, realization hitting you
  133. >With that realization came more memories
  134. >Ones full of blood
  135. >Corpses
  136. >And one maniacal laughing lunatic standing over each of them, amidst tons of rubble
  137. >Fear starts rushing your body
  138. >You can hardly move, as the vision of that mad unicorn slowly became a reality
  139. >He even started to speak
  140. You did well, foolish mortal, but not well enough
  141. >He whispers, and lunges at you
  142. >You scream
  143. >As loud as you can
  144. AAAAHHH!!!
  145. >You scream so hard that
  146. >You jolt awake, shoving yourself away from something and slamming into a tree
  147. >Blackness creeps up on you
  148. >But not before you catch sight of very worried Chrysalis
  149. Anon? Are you ok?
  150. >The world around you starts to fade away again
  151. >But you manage to do something before you black out
  152. The castle...
  153. >You point to where the castle is on the mountaintop
  154. >The same one you noticed before you were teleported to the forest
  155. >Then you black out
