- >You don't know when it happened
- >But it did
- >Your dreams have changed
- >No longer are you playing in the woods as a young child with your friends
- >Now, all you can see are dead trees, overgrown with moss and vines
- >All you can hear is
- >...
- >Actually, you can't hear anything
- >Your surroundings are as silent as death
- >Soon enough, you're shivering from the cold
- >Suddenly, a twig snaps
- >Before you can react, your scenery changes
- >You are on a clifftop
- >One that seems eerily familiar
- >You can't place why, but you recognize it
- >As you walk around, you start imagining the structures of a massive building
- >As you imagine them, they appear
- >Slowly at first, but you keep imagining things
- >Almost as if you remember them
- >Not long after, you find yourself wandering a castle
- >A grand achievement of architecture surrounds you
- >The walls twist, bend, and warp around in ways that seem impossible
- >There are places where you can put your feet in these sockets every here and there and walk up and around the walls
- >You don't even care that you're the only one here
- >You can't believe that you are diagonally upside down, high in the air, looking down at a ballroom
- >These walls would go up, bend in loops, and be straight again, forming a very strange warped dome-like shape at the top
- >With a grand sense of adventure, you begin exploring the castle
- >Oddly enough, you seem to know where everything is
- >You walk straight to the kitchen
- >And directly to the laboratory
- >Even though getting there required walking against gravity through various loops and twists near the ceiling
- >And up (or down?) a similarly impossible flight of stairs
- >Good thing these foothold things are everywhere
- >The lab itself is super odd
- >Like the rest of the castle, the floor itself is normal, while the walls and ceiling are extremely bendy
- >But here, every table is set up in just the right spot to have a clear vantage point from every angle
- >Even hanging upside down on the ceiling
- >Every beaker, bottle, and box is empty, but somehow you get the feeling that someone was working on inter dimensional gateways
- >You don't know why you think that, but you do
- >Especially odd considering that this looks more like a place fitting to analyse chemicals and atomic level stuff
- >With a shrug, you leave that room and resume aimlessly wandering the place
- >In one particular hallway, you're horizontal with the floor, about 16 feet up, when you see something
- >A door
- >A perfectly normal, rectangular door
- >All the others you've come across were warped to fit the surrounding walls
- >Curious, you make your way to it
- >Upon closer inspection, it resembles the door of your own home...
- I wonder if...
- >You open it, unprepared for what you encounter
- >You're looking at the floor area of a balcony
- >Only this balcony is above your head, and below it is nothing but air for easily miles down
- >For reasons unknown, you decide to step into the footholds it provides
- >When you do, you notice something peculiar
- >The effect wasn't very intense in the castle, but here, the world looks so different upside down
- >As you stand/hang there, a wind blows
- >It came from your left, where some much smaller mountains lie
- >Wait
- >Mountains?
- >A look around you tells you that yes, you've been exploring an odd castle at the edge of a cliff on the top of the highest mountain
- >In fact, it looked pretty similar to something else you've seen recently
- >But you can't place it
- >Oh well
- >No helping that
- >You turn and re open the door, and find another puzzle piece
- >It doesn't go back to where you first saw it
- >It now leads to a set of stairs that extended every direction except down, with footholds galore
- >Loosely surrounded by a more or less circular wall
- >Curiosity now piqued, you follow them
- >As you climb, something starts nagging at you
- >You still know, somewhere deep in your brain that this is a dream, but something is still bothering you
- >Why is it so easy to stay upside down and sideways on these walls?
- >It feels as though you only barely need them
- >But that wasn't what the nagging feeling is about though
- >It's about something else
- >Something you can't place your finger on...
- >You begin to hum a little tune to yourself, not knowing or caring what it was
- >Just something to distract you
- >Finally, you come to the end of the stairs and see another plain rectangular door
- >Well, almost
- >This one is wedged sideways into the wall
- >You reach to open it, but that nagging feeling hits you again
- >You just can't seem to shake it off
- >You open the door, and step into a plain room
- >Just like a regular room, this one has straight walls and a flat roof
- >Further inspection reveals that furnishings are sparse here
- >Just a bed, a dresser, a mirror, a nightstand, and a connecting bathroom
- >Quite like your guest quarters back at Chrysalis's place
- >The only thing on the wall is a huge oil painting
- >...
- >Of a scene you somehow recognize
- >A large lake on the plateau of a mountain
- Wha....
- >You turn your attention away from the paining to try to think about it
- >That nagging feeling is growing stronger by the minute
- >Something about this whole place
- >There's something you should know
- >Something...
- >You glance at the nightstand and notice a picture frame
- The odd feeling turning into a pit of fear
- >With trembling hands, you pick it up and look at the photo
- >What you see almost makes you throw it away in shock
- No...
- >It's you
- >You, standing next to the entrance of the castle
- >And you're not alone
- >Next to you is a unicorn with a large crown
- >He looked a little taller than you, and his coat a dark blue, almost black
- >With an short mane glowing like a fire
- >Whoever he was, he looked
- Familiar
- >You think aloud
- >Without warning, something starts rushing into your brain
- >Memories
- >Of you
- >And that pony in the picture
- >So many memories that you can't even process them
- AAAAHHH!
- >You drop the picture, and drop down to your knees
- >The pain is almost unbearable
- >Your head feels like it's splitting open
- >Just before it feels like it does, it stops
- >Sudden realization hits you, and all these memories connect
- >This was your castle
- >That pony...
- >He was your friend
- >He helped you build this castle
- >His name...
- >His name
- >....
- >!!
- Ibaje
- >You breath, realization hitting you
- >With that realization came more memories
- >Ones full of blood
- >Corpses
- >And one maniacal laughing lunatic standing over each of them, amidst tons of rubble
- >Fear starts rushing your body
- >You can hardly move, as the vision of that mad unicorn slowly became a reality
- >He even started to speak
- You did well, foolish mortal, but not well enough
- >He whispers, and lunges at you
- >You scream
- >As loud as you can
- AAAAHHH!!!
- >You scream so hard that
- >You jolt awake, shoving yourself away from something and slamming into a tree
- >Blackness creeps up on you
- >But not before you catch sight of very worried Chrysalis
- Anon? Are you ok?
- >The world around you starts to fade away again
- >But you manage to do something before you black out
- The castle...
- >You point to where the castle is on the mountaintop
- >The same one you noticed before you were teleported to the forest
- >Then you black out
