To make an attack your roll 1d100+your agility for melee attacks and 1d100+your weapon skill for ranged attacks.

Gator (GM): like other skills range weapons give you +10 per level to your roll
To parry, your roll just as you would to do an attack except you have to roll higher than the attacker.
it takes one action.
With ranged, you must roll 1d100 + agility to perform a dodge, the attacker must roll higher than your dodge roll for that entire turn.
If you take cover, which you do by saying you take cover, ranged attacks have -40 to hit you.
To hit with a range attack you must roll over 40. For melee it's 20.
