- Ten years is a very long time in a place this busy. Of course, one of the biggest problems that happens when you have a planet-sized spaceship appear in a solar system is finding out that the locals have scanners powerful enough to detect it, which set a whole slew of problems in and of itself. Like the more paranoid minds in Sol (or rather, Origin) going 'it's a trap!' and screaming, sparking off wars, most notably the Grineer who ramped up their production massively. And while their warships could be considered terrifyingly effective, Hyperion was just so bloody massive that they couldn't put any meaningful dents into it before a hemisphere's worth of weaponry eradicated their ships.
- They used this as an excuse to throw those ships at their enemies as well - rather than watch these lunatics wipe everything but themselves out, I had to dedicate a notable amount of my time to intercepting their fleets, which caused them to panic more and target any solar rails they didn't control - hardly an acceptable course of action. The fact that Hyperion could repair any damage or replace them if destroyed was irrelevant, considering that when they attacked, they tended to arrange their attacks to hit near-simultaneously in multiple locations. In the end, the only way to stop this was to stop the attacks at their source - the Grineer held out admirably, but it's quite difficult to hold out against a planet-sized starship that can move faster than light without supporting infrastructure. With their biggest stick broken, their enemies pressed the attack on their own and were wildly successful, breaking the empire's back, killing the twin queens and forcing the Grineer into an unconditional surrender as their civilization shattered.
- This introduced its own problems, of course, but the primary issue was solved... aside from ships that had hidden and periodically still attacked from dark space. Of course, this entire war attracted the attention of another individual who specifically targeted me for setting it off - while he never infiltrated Hyperion, I never intended to spend all of my time aboard it when there was so much more to see. Initially I made the mistake of visiting Earth unarmed and only narrowly avoided being slaughtered at the hands of a black warframe, who spoke of my sins. After that... well. I found that I had a great many upgrades to my warehouse, thanks to my presence here, and I was certainly not shy about using them. The next time that he attacked, I found the use of my AT field abruptly ineffective against him, but magic worked; when magic proved less effective, I simply used all the guns that I could, no matter that it was difficult to procure effective ammunition. And in the end, a progressive katana - upgraded to an ivory handle, a gold blade - proved effective in stopping his own weapon in mid-swing. My retreat was necessitated by his associates in similarly-effective black warframes, though; he and his acolytes were something I couldn't stop, short of orbital bombardment, and that was of course not a viable option. Even using kuva to temporarily upgrade my physical capabilities here, and augmenting my cybernetics as much as possible, still left me unable to completely match them.
- Still, those hiccups aside... it was an interesting time here. The upgrading of Hyperion's shell from bronze to ivory and gold will be a work in progress for a long time, as will integrating all of the local technologies, but the MAGI Triumvirate at least means that Hyperion has an effective controlling intelligence and can do such things on its own now. It seems that House took charge, while Ox handled the defenses and Camel the offense.
- (Oh, and I made sure to sterilize Tau Ceti before I left, because... well, it would be stupid to leave an existential threat to humanity that they can't effectively end, now wouldn't it? The Tenno did not expect that, when they finally made their way to the Tau system.)
