  3. We all watched as Occupy Wall Street grew from a few hundred people in Zucotti Park to the multitudes that now have hands on experience with the movement. It amazed me as FB and Twitter pages were seemingly creating themselves. On September 22, when the Occupy NorthCarolina FB page created itself there were not many others. Then suddenly the number of new pages took off exponentially. Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Boone, even Hendersonville, the whole time building a new and exciting type of infrastructure.

  5. Having some time to sit back an actually try to wrap my brain around the FB Group Occupy Social Media, I feel that we should focus our efforts on using existing FB pages for the purpose they are intended. For example, the NCGA site could be used for precisely that purpose. We have members in our group that are members in the GA group as well. I am certain that some of you are in groups that have different functions, share them with us and we may decide to promote them.

  7. There has been hard work, time, and tremendous emotion put into these FB pages, lets not waste that energy.

  9. My current philosophy, which has been hyper-dynamic, so..., is to become a group of groups. The most important aspect is the actual meetings themselves, the face to face, so why not have meetings locally as well. Then continue monthly statewide meetings. In addition to the geographical type groups, there could be groups related to causes. This would help decentralize and allow us to reach a broader range of interests.
