(Note that all names used below are in standard Selae, not Peskerselae)

Peskerayen is the fourth of the major cities in the Selist.
It is located on the Southwestern coast of the country.
While it may not be exceedingly big, it is still the largest city in the region
Accordingly, it is the cultural center of the Pesselo(PESS-sel-oh) people.
The Pesselo are neither culturally nor linguistically related to the other Selae peoples.
Indeed, many of them are unhappy about the current "occupation" of the Peskerist.
In reality, Selyen does not often intervene in their affairs, and they are left alone.
So long as they pay tribute and contribute to the army, the Selyenan is happy.

The area around Peskerayen is sparsely populated compared to the rest of the Selist.
The majority of the area is swamp and marsh. The remainder is temperate rainforest.
A great deal of the land is potentially arable, but is not in use.
The difficulty in preparing the complete and total wilderness is one part.
The other part is the monster population.
While nobody is really sure what exactly is in there, few are willing to find out.
A few minor expeditions have been attempted. None have been particularly successful.

Unlike the rest of the Selist, the Peskerist is not ruled in the same way.
They don't a system where a hereditary aristocracy divides the Ist into personal lands.
Instead, each individual town is run by an individual/group charged with its protection.
How exactly the leaders are chosen varies from town to town.
The roads and rivers between settlements are often relatively lawless.
That's because most towns don't have the resources to protect everything around them.
