To Kill a Mocking bird is a novel based on the fictitious events that occur within the small town of Maycomb, Alabama through the eyes of an adult Jean Louise Finch (Scout), who was, at the time a young female Maycomb resident. This particular novel was written by author Harper Lee and published in 1960; within, the life of a small town smothered in the depths of a global depression (1930’s) is portrayed via racially induced prejudices that divided communities not by the area of which they lived, instead the colour of their skin. Throughout the chilling years depicted within the novel Scout and her older brother Jem are confronted with many adult situations including that of; death, racism and a judiciary system of which is highly corrupt,
