  1. Oh dear. The author of that article is very obviously and purposefully misrepresenting everything that Ayn Rand ever said. A Russian sociologist? Well, how likely is he to think the same way as someone like Ayn Rand, who left Russia on her own at a young age because she hated everything they taught in Russia, and then made it her mission to explain logically, objectively, rationally why the Russians' Communist/Socialist/Stalinist "philosophies" were wrong? I wish it weren't this way, but it also looks to me like not a single person on this page actually understands anything that Ayn Rand ever wrote. It's unfortunate that basically everyone who reads her seems to purposefully misinterpret what she says. She even has her characters explicitly state what is meant on many occasions, and people still seem to have trouble grasping it. She is not an elitist, but praises men who take pride in doing their jobs in the best way possible. We should be proud of the things we are able to accomplish, and we should NEVER allow anyone to make unjust claim to the fruits of our labors. Everyone can have their own opinions, but it's worth thinking harder about what she says in Atlas Shrugged. Her main point boils down to this: Men of every stature who hone and use their talents deserve, merit and OWN their work. We should and must always be proud of our accomplishments, and must always fight any effort to forcibly take the fruit of our labors.
