  1.
  2. I want help to make a post on Reddit / a message to the greens and my greens MP etc here are my random notes help find relevant links and articles
  3.
  4.
  5. here's a video from the greens
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYIEYvq2a5M
  7.
  8. how do you think this will affect the greens ability to get more voters?
  9.
  10.
  11. I don't like this video I think that it uses a lot of tricks we see from groups like MAGA etc
  12.
  13. i think this uses Divisive language and it alienates people away from the greens
  14.
  15. The greens need to be taking One Nation talking points and showing them that the greens are the only ones who will deliver on them. One Nation will only make things worse.
  16. * CGT/NG Do not help wage earners. The amount they gain from it, is more than undone by the inflation caused by the MASSIVE gains from the 1%.
  17.
  18. This is the time to say 'you did some good work, and if you stopped being a complete pushover to gas giants, you could have done a lot more'
  19. 'If you added a wealth tax of only (get a reaonable number here) on the top .1%, you could have saved (get accurate numbers ) which would have meant not cutting .. (put something appropriate here but i wouldn't lean too much into NDIS)'
  20.
  21. "you've let the NDIS be being taken advantage of by scammers and grifters, and now you're using them as cover to cut costs.
  22. You should have invested into safe guards and checks earlier and now people will suffer."
  23.

  25.
  26. This budget includes some landmark policies that we've needed for a long time
  27.
  28. This is not going to capture One Nation voters, and I think they can be converted
  29.
  30. I believe that if OneNation voters understood the system and weren't lied to by billionairs, they'd vote Labor/Greens
  31.
  32. This was an opportunity to show them that the greens aren't a bunch of shouting woke lefties and that they can appreciate the work done in this budget, but that there is more to be done!
  33.
  34. This level of aggression towards genuine progress is what keeps Labor voters away from the Greens
  35.
  36. Agression like this rallies the base, but it makes most people feel defeated and give up. It fuels extremism for some and defeatist for the rest
  37.
  38. If they had gone harder on Negative Gearing, too many people would have gone to One nation and if greens keep shouting, they will anyway because when you're shouting it's a primal thing, it's emotional tribalism, and it taps into unhelpful us vs them mentality, which fuels the immigration narative by one nation. For the greens to win, we need to
  39. * not let perfect be the enemy of good
  40. * call out good policies
  41. * understand where the voters are at
  42.
  43. you need to know that people are shifting to One nation and so find the areas of the most agrement like taxing gas and billionairs and lean heavily on those.
  44.
  45.
  46.
  47. people are increasingly sick and tired of seeing (esp from america) shouty, emotion driven politicians that don't talk numbers. People are craving a cool calm and collected politician who clearly knows the system, how it's broken, and can articulate why and how to fix it.
  48.
  49. this should have gone something like "CGT discount and negative gearing have been a scurge on this country for decades and it is about bloody time something was done about it.. the greens have been arguing for this for decades .. now tax gas"
  50.
  51.
  52.
  53.
  54. In a doorstop interview, pauline remarked: "We were the baby boomers. We didn't have a lot. We had to go without... Then we saved and we invested into wealth to create that wealth. All the government is doing now is stripping that wealth and handing it to others." and the answer to that was that you were able to do that off the back of the (check the dates here but it'll be some time post ww2 when tax was higher and the CGT discount hand't had years of snowballing welath of the top, sucking up wealth from the bottom and drowning us in inflation )
  55.
  56. the way to beat ON is to take their talking points and calmly show exactly how they are wrong and how the greens will actually make things better
  57.
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61. we need something for the immigration point - my general point here is that immigratns are net tax positive esp compared to children, children are so expensive so if another country has paid for their education and healthcare and we take them as a skilled adult then great. You want to take a couple living in a studio appartment and get them to have kids? that sounds like misery, they need space and they are being forced further and futher out and currently it sucks out there and this budget did nothing to address that (exc the new builds bit so maybe look into that and see where they are comming from but even then, it's not enough) we need cost effective ways to make living further out not suck, like better remote work support ditch fibre and get 5G in rural areas (i have no idea what is going on in this space),
  62.
  63.
  64.
  65. water rights, agricultural consolidation, regional hospital closures, farm debt, big ag/mining company power over small farmers.
