  29. ↳ PERSONALITY┊Cassandra is very insecure and emotional. She is very ashamed of how emotional she is, and beats herself up for showing even the slightest sign of weakness. Unfortunately, this has made her more weak. She is someone who puts the needs of others before her own, which can be a good thing, but can also harm her. She is fiercely protective of those she loves, and just wants to see them be happy, even if she isn't happy. She is quite gullible, and is fooled easily. One good thing about her is that she is very deep-thinking, and she tends to have very deep interests. She also has an unusually articulate use of language, a result of her Asperger's syndrome. She tries so hard to be strong for those around her... a little too hard. Along with her Asperger's, she suffers from some depression, but she never told anyone out of fear.

  31. ↳ BACKGROUND┊Cassandra Zhou, or Zhou Xiaomei, was born in Edmonton to Chinese parents, Yang and Li Zhou. She is the older of two siblings, her sister Caitlin Zhou (Zhou Xiaohui) is four years younger than her. At a very young age, she was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome. She was taught as she grew up that it was a deformity. In school, she went through special needs classes, and was bullied by other students who called her a "retard," even though she had perfectly normal intelligence, actually being on of the top in her class. She was taught that crying was a sign of weakness, that no one would ever be friends with people who cried, and that she had to take everything in life with a smile. "Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know," were words she heard a lot from her teachers. The teachers never told her family how they were treating her, and Cassandra couldn't tell them out of fear that her teachers would find out and become angry at her. During this time, she began suffering from depression due to stress from her treatment and constant fear of showing her emotions. To this day, no one knows she has depression.

  33. ↳ DAY OF DEATH┊In the morning, she wakes up feeling like her heart is hurting. That morning, she finally tells her love interest that she is suffering from depression. For the first time, she truly opens up about what she's going through. After he comforts her and they have a heart-to-heart, they go through the rest of the day feeling oddly attached, as if it's their last day together. And unfortunately, it is. Late at night (around 10:30-11:00), the whole group (all slots and love interests remaining) is surrounded by people with switchblades. They attack, and Cassandra falls behind. She is fatally stabbed in the heart. Her love interest runs to her and holds her in his arms, and the rest all surround her as well. Her last words to the group are, "Tell people what happened to me... so that a difference might be made." She then gives her love interest a paper she wrote about her life and her struggles with Asperger's and depression, and kisses him passionately before letting go and taking her last breath. Then she dies, and the group mourns before they read what she wrote about her life.
