BACKGROUND ➳
    ¤ mei was born in shenzhen, china, to an unlikely pair who had just graduated from college. her father had a doctorate, and her mother had graduated with an arts degree. her mother took time off work to raise to mei, while her father worked long hours. when mei was six, her father was transferred to korea for her job, so her parents packed up their house, and moved to daegu, where mei spent the rest of her childhood.growing up, it was clear that mei was not the most graceful person, with her clumsiness and habit of knocking over anything within a five metre radius. from a young age they forced her to play the violin, even though she absolutely hated it and complained about it. with a neurosurgeon for a father, mei was pushed in the direction of the medical field, and her parents had hoped for her to become a doctor. however, mei's grades were average, since she didn't really like school or studying, and often found herself getting sidetracked. she really enjoyed music, and finally convinced her parents to let her drop the violin when she was twelve years old, picking up the piano instead. as an only child, her parents were very focused on her and what she would do with the rest of her life, and were very disappointed when she announced she wanted to take a career in the music pathway, which was then followed by multiple lectures on how she should not through her education away to chase a petty dream (none of which really changed her mind).  when she turned eighteen, she moved out, and travelled to seoul, determined to follow a music career, and later met the other girls of cinder, forming band with them. she doesn't remain on the best terms with her parents, and whenever she tries to ring them to let them know how she's doing and hoping they'll be happy, the phone calls usually end up in a massive screaming match.

PERSONALITY ➳
    ¤ in all honesty, mei should not be allowed to leave the house. she is a danger to anything and everything around her, due to her exhausting clumsiness. she is the queen of destruction, and could probably knock something over just by looking at it. she is not graceful in the slightest, despite what people might hope, and is constantly tripping over stairs, door frames, bumps in the carpet, magazines (or anything) left on the floor, her own feet and even thin air. she can barely walk five metres without stacking it. due to her horrible coordination, she is horrible at most sports, and was always the last person to picked for teams during school. she always has bruises on her knees and elbows from falling over or smacking into things. she would be the type of person who would end up dying because they tripped down three flights of stairs. she is a walking disaster, and really should not be allowed to go anywhere unsupervised.  however, despite her clumsiness, mei is rather good natured about it, even going as far as to joke about it. she is very good natured, and isn't the type of person to act hostile to people she doesn't know (unless they're idols, in which case that is a completely different story) she is probably one of the happiest members of the group, and never fails to bring a smile to others faces with her clumsiness, or her aegyo. she is definitely one of the more childish members of the group, and can occasionally be a bit of a whiney baby. she has a lot of killer aegyo up her sleeve, and is constantly using it to get her way. she seems to have an endless patience, and there are very few people who can say they've seen her lose it completely. usually, the worst mei will do is glare at people she doesn't like whenever they walk past, but if you somehow push her buttons, she'll start screaming at you like there's no tomorrow. mei can sometimes be seen as a bit of a pushover, since she usually just goes along with things and doesn't often speak out about the things that bother her, preferring to just maintain peace. she puts up with things that her group mates don't, and has a higher tolerance due to her patience. but of course, all of that goes out the window as soon as you push her too far. despite her innocent looks, she can be very terrifying when she wants to be. she is a very territorial person, and likes to keep her group of friends close knit, often having problems inviting new people into that circle. she doesn't like idols any more than her group mates, but feels the need to act civil towards them (and then bitch about them later when they're out of earshot). she does not like being controlled by other people, one of the main reasons why she wouldn't like to be an idol, and cannot stand pretending to be someone else just to fit her 'image'.

    ¤ mei isn't stupid enough to show her hate for idols while in public. she often just walks around with a big smile and just waves stiffly because she feels awkward when fans gather around and treat them like real idols. she doesn't do much talking as soon as cameras are shoved in her face, because she knows that anything she says can and will be used against her at some point in the future, but tries to just blame it on being camera shy. if she comes across another idol, she will kind of just give them a stiff smile, and try to refrain from glaring at them

IDOL CONNECTIONS ➳
    ¤ WENDY of RED VELVET | since kairo were working with exo, they were frequently around the sm building. usually, mei went out of her way to avoid the idols under that company, until she bumped - quite literally - into wendy. since wendy was so kind about it, mei didn't have to heart to snap and be all hostile towards the idol, and simply managed a weak smile and a quick apology. their friendship is slightly odd, but wendy is one of the few idols that can walk up to mei without getting glared at

FIRST IMPRESSIONS  ➳
    ¤ HER | she was very suspicious of him at first. she doesn't like idols, and believes them all to be fake, and therefore she was eyeing him like a snake, trying to figure out his next move. she was also becoming very territorial, and was worried about him getting too close to her friends for her comfort.
    ¤ HIM | he could kind of sense that she didn't really like him, even though she was trying not to outright show it. due that he kind of started to hate her more, one the reasoning of 'she hates me so i hate her even more'. but all he did was raise his eyebrows at her.


HOW YOU ACT AROUND EACH OTHER ➳
    ¤ BEG | since she's the 'pushover' of the group, she just decided to avoid him, because she had a habit of avoiding all her problems until they went away. unfortunately this didn't work, since she seemed to keep running into him (and knocking things over in the process which seemed to make him very amused, much to her annoyance). since she puts up with a lot more than the others, and has more patience, she was kind of made to do a lot of the talking, since she wouldn't automatically snap at them, unless they somehow managed to piss her off. she hated them A LOT, but for the sake of being professional, she decided to act civil, even though her dislike could clearly be heard in her voice, and pretty much ignored him whenever she could. he didn't really like her either, but knew he couldn't be outright rude to her when she was trying to be civil, so they sort of had a mutual hatred for each other. however, when they were together, he couldn't stop himself from making remarks, mostly about her height or her clumsiness. luckily for him, she just ignored it.
    ¤ MID | in the middle, they still hate each other, but mei is finding it harder and harder to put up with him and remain being civil, especially since he's pretty much given up and is constantly fire insults back at her. it gets to the point where she snaps and yells at him for it, and refuses to talk to him, or any of his band members, which makes everyone get pissed off at him, because me is now making things even more difficult for them by refusing to cooperate. eventually, he decided he needs to apologise for the sake of both groups, which is difficult because she won't talk to him, and just starts sitting next to her, without ever talking to her and just offering her food. it takes a while until she actually starts talking to him again, ranting about how much she hates fake people and controlling entertainment companies. he kind of just sits there and listens to her, and they have some sort of understanding between them (but they still really hate each other). he later finds out how much she likes bubble tea and white chocolate and starts buying it for her, making it very difficult for her to refuse his company because she can't turn down two of her favourite things.
    ¤ END | towards the end, their relationship sort of turns bipolar. sometimes they can hold civil conversations, and even smile and joke with each other, and then two seconds later he will be back to teasing her and her getting annoyed and pissed off at him, but not saying anything about it (just using her expressions to show him that she's pissed off). they sort of get to the point where they do everything possible to piss the other one off, liking her texting him in the middle of the night for no reason other than to wake him up, and him correcting her korean even though she's already fluent. in reality, the pair of them can't go more than five minutes without getting on each other's nerves. they have a sort of love hate relationship that changes every ten seconds, where sometimes they like each other, and others they hate each other. however, by this point, a lot of the teasing is mostly good natured, and isn't meant to intentionally hurt the other person, mostly just to piss them off. he also gets a bit more braver, and starts to sneak up on her and give her back hugs (but he insists it's just because he likes trying to scare the life out of her by sneaking up behind her. no one actually believes him)
