- “I had another bad dream about Slappy,” I told Willow.
- “So did I!” she cried. “That’s why I came to your room. To tell you.”
- I swept a hand back through my hair. My forehead was drenched in sweat. “You had another nightmare?”
- She nodded. “It was horrible. Slappy made me go to school. To the gym.”
- “Me too!” I cried.

- “We … we almost had the exact same dream!” I said. I jumped to my feet. “But … how is that possible?”
- Willow shrugged. We both stared at the dummy, sprawled lifelessly on his back.
- “As soon as I fall asleep, there he is,” I said. “It’s like he’s there waiting. Waiting to invade my dreams.”
