  1. This Will Work- it has for me, and others. The fix is a little tricky, but it works.
  2.
  3. Make your wireless connection using the Lumia.
  4. Before the BSOD, open the Network and Sharing Center
  5. Click on Manage Wireless Network
  6. Select your Lumia 920 connection
  7. Click on the Security Tab
  8. Click on Advanced Settings
  9. Check the box for “Enable Federal Information Processing (FIPS) compliance for this network.
  10. Click on OK, OK, etc. Until you are out.
  11. Reboot ASAP before the BSOD.
  12. (The key is to get all that done before your BSOD comes back. It may take more than 1 try. ) It works well after you have completed the process- at least until the next Windows update for your phone that may reset the adapter. When that happens, you can just do it again. )
  13. (You MUST be connected with the Lumia- that Security Tab is DIFFERENT and you CAN’T find the Advanced setting with a different wireless connection)
  14. I have no idea why it works, but it does.
