  1. IN ORDER OF WHEN THEY TAKE PLACE IN THE VIDEO:
  2.
  3. 1.16 RSG (Random Seed Glitchless) - The most popular category; world record videos tend to get hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views, further incentivising cheaters.
  4.
  5. Triangulation - Eyes of ender are thrown from different locations, the angles of the eye throws are noted, and the place where the angles meet is where to dig down for the starter staircase of the stronghold.
  6.
  7. Looting Sword - Many runs featured in this video involve looting swords, and the reason for this, is because they significantly speed up the process of getting blaze rods.
  8.
  9. E-Counter Strats (E-ray) - Upon loading into the nether, runners will watch the right E number (hostile entities in rendered chunks) on the f3 screen for an instant spike of around 20, because that indicates the presence of a bastion within render distance. Next, the FOV is turned down to 30, and the left E number (hostile entities in FOV) is used to find the direction of the bastion. Typically, the spike will be big enough to avoid false positives. If the runner is unsure that a spike is real, they can add the M and C numbers, and if that is equal (or near equal) to the right E number, there is no bastion.
  10.
  11. Double Travel - By building one portal out of the nether, the runner can gauge the distance of the stronghold, go back to the nether (since travel is 8x faster), and build a second portal that will land them near the stronghold.
  12.
  13. Bastions - Whenever I say "all required resources from the bastion," im referring to getting the gold blocks, and trading with piglins for at least 12 pearls, at least 10 obsidian, enough string, crying obsidian, and glowstone to craft at least 4 explosives (beds & respawn anchors), and fire resistance potion/s (this is not required, but very helpful).
  14.
  15. Flowbee's Triangulation (calculated travel) - Just like the definition stated earlier, but instead of an arbitrary second eye throw location, after the first eye is thrown, he goes exactly 17.5 blocks to the side to throw the second one. With a reference sheet, he knows how far he needs to travel. Due to the very far stronghold distance, a 0.6 degree angle change will not yield a very precise location (+- hundreds of blocks travelled), which is why I brought up the margin of error.
  16.
  17. Bastion Strats Implementation - Prior to Couriway's world record (Nov 3, 2020), almost every runner used nether gold ore to get gold for piglin trades. Couri's record basically proved the potential of bastion strats.
  18.
  19. SpeedRun Legend's Texture Pack - To be clear, the run is most definitely fake, but there were no visible splices in the footage. For this reason, the mods just went with the easy option of rejecting it due to the texture pack.
  20.
  21. Stats Sheet - Some runners use a stats sheet to tracks their resetting.
