The original Ōtsutsuki have pale complexions, with horns on their head also being common. Beyond appearances, however, it is difficult to discuss the Ōtsutsuki since not all of them possess the same abilities and the abilities that they do possess predate the modern terminology used by shinobi. All Ōtsutsuki have possessed at least one inborn skill, the Byakugan being the most prevalent with the potential of awakening the Tenseigan; Kaguya has the Rinne Sharingan and a predecessor ability of the Shikotsumyaku; Hagoromo and Momoshiki both have the Rinnegan, the former of which, in the anime, awakened it after manifesting the Sharingan and Mangekyō Sharingan. Another ability in the anime was the Wood Release as seen by Asura Ōtsutsuki.
Momoshiki claims that the Ōtsutsuki's greatest skill is their ability to use chakra, gaining strength, retain youth, and long life by ingesting it.

Personality: Shirane is very nerdy and egoistic, she is always self-centered which often leads to her thinking she is the leader and she must do everything for others, since in her mind only she can do it, Shirane often needs help with lots of things since she doesn't understand a thing about earth, she often doesn't understand emotions, never knows when to stop not to mention she doesn't understand Earth's tradition. Shirane is extremely smart when it comes to scientific or jutsu related knowledge, she is always really proud of herself which lead to being to proud to even admit that she is desperately in need of assistance. Shirane doesn't really know how to interact with others due to being raised up all alone, to just become strong and annihilate humanity.


Backstory: When Shirane was born, she was extremely sick and fragile and as she grew her byakugan started to mature when she was mere 5, yet it was completely useless and couldn't even reach the sight of chakra points, the radius of it were mere 2 feet. Shirane could never go train or even go outside since her body was so weak that mere sunlight affected it, though she was pretty happy even without good health or talent since both her parents were happy about her no matter how sick she was, though happiness not always lasts, her mother soon has fallen prey to the same sickness, yet she couldn't hold against it and died in mere days after getting sick. Shirane was terrified of being alone, she was overflowing with sadness and depression and just as she started crying over her mother's death, her left eye color started to change to red as she gained an extra black tomoe, Shirane had awakened her sharingan without even realizing it. After her mother's death another sad message came, this time to Shirane's father- Hoshi Otsutsuki, he was the current leader of the remains of Otsutsuki and the message was a report of Momohiki's, Shirane's father's best friend's death, after the message her father slowly started to change, he was no longer the warm parent he used to be. Hoshi started to blame everything on humans, it was their fault that the Otsutsuki went almost extinct, that they have to face such cruel sicknesses and that they have o live this way, all Kaguya's and the human kind's fault. Hoshi corrupted by his hatred and anger had started to make a plan, to raise an army and take over earth to avenge Momoshiki and to finish what the Otsutsuki had begun. From then on Shirane was put under extremely hard training due to her having sharingan, she was really useful, when Shirane's training started she was 9. Shirane was raised to hide all her emotions and to never feel empathy for the weaker. Shirane's condtion would often worsen due to all the training, yet she never a single break, Shirane's main purpose now was to serve in the war and help her father to clear the earth of humans.
