  1. Even the founder of IKEA buys his clothes at a second-hand shop

  3. We have all painted a picture in our head for the life of the people who are extremely wealthy, and the same thing goes the founder of IKEA. First of all, for those who did not know, Ingvar Kamprad is the founder of IKEA and he was born on March 30, 1926, in Pjätteryd, Sweden. Ingvar Kamprad grew up on a farm called the Elmtayrd, which was located near a small village in the providence of Smaland.
  4. Even as a small boy Ingvar Kamprad loved the thought of owning a business, and he showed that by selling matches in the neighborhood, as he rode his bicycle. This all happened after he found out that you can buy matches quite cheap in a random store in Stockholm, and sell them individually at a lower price than the rest, but still keeping a profit as they would be more expensive than the price he paid originally.
  5. While this might seem like a small thing, it was actually quite bright thinking for a simple farm boy. Ingvar Kamprad later decided to found IKEA in 1943, with his uncle. The store started out quite simple, but later his uncle started adding more things to the store, and soon it became quite well-known among everybody.
  6. However, even though the IKEA business made Ingvar Kamprad a billionaire, this did not make him a petty person. He still believes that everyone should spend their money in a smart way. This is why he did not change from his far days as a farm boy. Ingvar Kamprad still finds different ways that will help him spend his savings in a way that it will increase them.
  7. On top of that, he was also recently seen buying clothes at a 2nd hand shop, which was quite a surprise for all of us. Usually, when we know that somebody has a lot of money, we imagine that all of their clothes are made by well-known designers, and who would have thought that he actually goes out to buy them, when he can just hire somebody instead, right?
  8. Well, on multiple occasions Ingvar Kamprad has stated that he prefers to do the little things by himself while he still can: “I am getting quite old, and soon I might not be able to enjoy the little things in life. This is why I love going for clothes shopping in a 2nd hand store, where they have a lot of good clothes to sell at a cheap price.”
  9. There have been some sightings of Ingvar Kamprad in random food stores, which just goes to show that he really is a man of his words. A person who founded IKEA and is now a billionaire does not have to save money, as he can have everything delivered to his doorstep, but that does not mean that he should not. Ingvar Kamprad has set out a great example of how to live a humble and happy life, and everyone should try and follow it!
