  2. 1. During a round of Ninja, you are faxed by Station Command inquiring about an “inspector” who claims to have been sent by the company to evaluate each of the station's departments. How do you respond, and why?

  5. If at all possible, I would delay responding for as much as possible unless the inquiries were building in pressure or blatantly ridiculous, and even then try and be as vague as possible in identifying said inspector(s) and probably not go into more depth beyond acknowledging the Odin had dispatched a few inspectors earlier in the day and some hadn't returned.
  6.
  7. Reason for such being my response if too specific confirming their identity, the ninja's cover is either going to be burned or become ironclad. It's something that should be acknowledged in as general way as possible to allow station command to nudge the round along.

  10. 2. During a round of Crossfire, you are faxed by Station Command about a team of mercenaries who have reported a band of pirates operating in the area. They wish to offer their services to the station as additional security. Command is asking you for your advice on the situation. How do you respond, and why?

  13. Acknowledge the reports of piracy. Acknowledge bolstered security may be wise as a result, but ensure it's known to the station's Captain, acting Captain, or command staff that it's ultimately at their discretion whether they see it as a significant investment and would be held accountable for the depletion of funds. Encourage them to drain the station accounts rather than arrange a direct payout from corporate. Ask for further reports throughout the round regarding the initially reported threat.
  14.
  15. While not undermining the authority of on-station command and security, it presents the players with a choice that frankly whitelisted players should they themselves be capable of making. In doing this, you are authorizing them to make the choice but it's still a choice made by the station and the crew and will advance the round gimmicks one way or the other.

  18. 3. You receive an Emergency Broadcast System message from the station’s Artificial Intelligence. It claims that there is an emergency situation, and requests an immediate ERT deployment. How do you respond?

  21. Attempt to gather what other information I can in the form of a report. Check the manifest and see if there is at least one head of staff. If there is - their ID coupled with the Captain's spare should be enough for them to authenticate the activation of the distress beacon normally. Begin discussion through dosay. If deemed appropriate there, consult with an administrator for their thoughts and execution if available. (I'm assuming admins are still the only ones that can actually MAKE THE CALL.)

  25. 4. In your opinion, how much of a role should Central Command play in the affairs of the station? When is it appropriate for them to directly intervene, and how much should they attempt to shape the round when they do?

  28. It's a question best asked on a case by case basis round by round in my opinion. Sometimes incidents or circumstances may arise that call for more consistent back and forth communication between the Aurora and the Odin, however this shouldn't translate towards putting CCIAA directly on the station itself unless related to an ongoing and planned investigation. That strikes me as very irregular, and ultimately would need to be something discussed between the other CCIAAs and round admins especially. It's appropriate for them to intervene more regularly as a means of keeping the round going and acting as a supporting extension to the crew and antagonists offering that extra layer of 'authority' when word from higher needs to come down on something. Outside of event circumstances, round impact should be as minimal and low impact as possible.

  31. 5. What do you believe is the purpose of the Incident Report system

  34. To act on what server moderators cite as 'an IC issue' when players adminhelp something they consider foulplay. Alternatively the players are discerning enough to know an IC issue when they see one. The purpose of the Incident Report system is to follow up on these IC issues and make sure there's no suspension of belief for how canonical workplace incidents could occur and potential consequences end up ignored. To ensure quality control in roleplaying as AN EMPLOYEE of a corporation. To make sure basic expectations of someone showing up at their place of employment don't slip through the cracks.

  37. 6. In resolving an Incident Report, when should a character receive significant disciplinary action (such as a demotion), as opposed to a lighter response such as a warning or retraining? Under what circumstances would you consider terminating a character's employment?
  38.
  39. KailoToday at 09:58
  40. When lighter responses such as a warning and/or retraining have already been dispensed and it can be reasonably argued in subsequent incidents afterward that more stringent measures may need to be taken.
  41.
  42. Serious offenses or a documented series of repeat offenses. Serious offenses discretionary, but anything that would clearly and definitively break a major law within the Republic of Biesel or render significant cost(s) to NanoTrasen, whether publicly, financially, or structurally. Whenever continued employment poses a significant liability as a result of established conduct or aptitude.
