  2. Luna
  3. -
  4. >Be floating in space because everything is gone and all the people you liked to hang out with are fucking dead.
  5. >Except for Luna. She's still alive for some retarded reason.
  6. >You're bored and it's fucking cold and you can't see shit. "I'm fucking cold and can't see shit." Luna opens a glowy eye and 'hmmphs.'
  7. "Be silent, human. Enjoy the night."
  8. >"I stopped enjoying it twelve trillion years ago."
  9. "Oh that is humorous, for we have not."
  10. >She starts humming.
  11. >She won't stop.
  12. >Decide to have a fap.
  13. >Her hair is the only vague source of illumination. It works like a black-light.
  14. >You pants are glowing from all the jizz-stains that have accumulated from eons of fapping.
  15. >Being immortal sucks balls.
  16.
  17. Twilight
  18. -
  19.
  20. "Ask me another question."
  21. >You stick your fingers as far into your ears as you can. You'd poke your brain out if you could.
  22. "Just anything. Ask me anything. Quiz me."
  23. >"I've already asked you a question pertaining to every single facet of every possible topic that is written on every single cell of my fucking brain a jillion times over."
  24. >You stare dark, inflamed eyes at her. "I have literally nothing new to say to you."
  25. >This is the thirty-eight time you've said this sentence to her.
  26. "But...I NEED something. ANYTHING. My mind is going at the speed of light and I need something to stand against it."
  27. >She shakes you with her forehooves.
  28. "ANON. You don't even have to ask me a question. Just say a word. Just make noises, something for me to analyze or rend down into bits of tangential data that can distract me if only for the briefest of microseconds!"
  29. >That's the 189th time she said that.
  30. >"Chazzwozzers."
  31. >Her ears twitch as she picked up every undulation and stressed vowel of your nonsensical word.
  32. >She sighs.
  33. >"Did that help at all?"
  34. >She takes a thousand years to contemplate your inquiry.
  35. "No."
  36. >"Thought so."
  37. >She looks at her wings.
  38. >"Were they worth it?"
  39. >She takes a long time to say something.
  40. "Data inconclusive."
  41. >That shut her up for a while.
  42. >Didn't make you feel any better.
  43.
  44. Cadance
  45. -
  46.
  47. >Of all the girls in all the world.
  48. "It's like...pieces of dry kindling."
  49. >You had to be stuck with this one.
  50. >Don't say anything. It just encourages her.
  51. "Any other time or place they'd catch on fire if you rubbed them together. But not here."
  52. >She can make small amounts of light if she wants to. But most of the time she just talks to herself in the dark.
  53. >It helps her forget that you're here. Other times, well...
  54. "None of it left."
  55. >At least she's not talking about her first husband again. That was the worst.
  56. >Her horn sparks just enough to catch light that's barely worth the ember of an ember.
  57. >Dust is all over her. She holds up a hoof.
  58. "I used to be able to tell, you know. When two people were in love. Even if they didn't know, I could tell. From the tiniest little spark I could see the fires of love that could grow if only they were fed."
  59. >She stares deeper at the ashes of a universe long since passed.
  60. "I used to fan those flames."
  61. >She looks at you with a sickly purple gaze.
  62. "No fires here, though."
  63. >She looks deep into your sunken, unblinking eyes.
  64. "No fires at all."
  65. >She turns back to her hoof.
  66. "There could be two little pieces of dust here. Long ago they could've been part of two people. People who loved each other. They could have made promises and vows and cries of passion to each other beneath hot sheets and bright sunshine."
  67. >She lowers her arm and the dust drifts away.
  68. "But I wouldn't be able to know. That's what pains me the most. I just don't feel it. None of it. Nowhere."
  69. >Her voice is flat.
  70. "No more love."
  71. >The light fades away again. You hear her crying.
  72. >The only thing you can do is get some sleep and hope she's stopped by the time you wake up.
  73.
  74.
  75. Bughoers
  76. -
  77.
  78. >She won't let you move.
  79. >Sometimes you wonder if you actually have arms or legs or anything at all. You can't even feel them. Your digits are so frost-bitten they refuse to move.
  80. >If that wasn't bad enough, she's just gripped around you like steel cables. The edges of her exoskeleton pinch your skin. You've forgot when you stopped struggling. You fought hard at first, but she eventually managed to lock you down for good.
  81. >She rubs her muzzle against your cheek.
  82. "Say it."
  83. >Those two words are light up in your brain like an iron brand. They've driven their imprint into your mind like water in a river bed.
  84. >You response is reflective.
  85. "I love you."
  86. >She inhales sharply like a drowning man getting a split second of air. The soft green diffuse of her eyes has never left your vision. You like to pretend it's warm. It's not, but...nothing wrong with a little pretend.
  87. "Say it again."
  88. >You do.
  89. >She licks your cheeck with a long, dry tongue.
  90. >She'd die if you kept quiet.
  91. >It's been so long you don't know if you want that or not.
  92. "Say it."
  93. >She doesn't give you time to think about alternatives anyhow.
  94. >"I love you."
  95. >Everything is routine now.
  96. "Say it, say it, say it."
  97. >It may be simple, but at least it's consistent.
  98. "Say it."
  99. >"I love you." She never says 'I love you' back, but that doesn't bother you anymore.
  100. "Oh, never ever, ever stop saying it."
  101. >You don't.
  102. >"I love you."
  103.
  104. Tank
  105. -
  106. "You are a turtle"
  107. >The turtle bumps against you.
  108. "You goddamned turtle!"
  109. >Fuckin' hell his dumbass helicopter blades keep hitting your shins.
  110. >"Piss off already!" He smiles his retarded smile already.
  111. >He buzzes off.
  112. >"Oh thank go-"
  113. >He charges your head.
  114. >"NO NO GOD AAHRHGHAAHHAHAHGGGH!!!"
  115. *chp*chp*chp*chp*chp*
  116. >FUCKING INDESTRUCTIBLE TURTLES
  117. >He crashes into your crotch
  118. >FUCKING INDESTRUCTIBLE BALLS!
  119. >YOU HATE EXISTENCE!
  120. >GODDAMIT RAINBOW WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GET AN EVER-LIVING CYBORG TURTLE!
  121.
  122. ---
  123.
  124. >You wake up sweating, gasping. Terrified, but relieved there's water to sweat and air to gasp with.
  125. >There's moonlight. There's a fire burning.
  126. >Where are you? Where are you?
  127. >Eons of memories flap around inside your brain trying to arrange themselves in some vague order like a flock of birds.
  128. >Okay. You breathe deep. You remember now.
  129. >The stars went out. One came back on. The rest fell into place. There were stars again.
  130. >You had a bed to sleep in. Wooden celings to stare at.
  131. >A bed to have unsettling dreams in. You rub your face. It's been a while since you've had a weird one like that.
  132. >At least -she- wasn't in it.
  133. >You decide it's time for a walk.
  134. >Conciousness falls upon you like water from a pipe.
  135. >You step onto a balcony and stare at a city. You remember when it was just a handful of huts and tents and a big bonfire every night.
  136. >Little lights criss-cross the streets.
  137. >You nerves start to settle.
  138. "Oh. So you're awake too?"
  139. >Eris climbs down the outside of the castle wall with one limb in front of the other like a giant furred salamander.
  140. >"Slept long enough for one night, I think." Eris slinked onto the balcony rail and kicked her legs out over the edge. She leaned over and crossed her arms. "What are you up to?" She shrugs.
  141. "Just kicking around town. Listening to some bands play. Some good ones. Some sucky ones."
  142. >You lean over the rail as well. "Any one sticking in particular?" She thinks for a moment.
  143. "I saw the one group with the lead singer chick who has the, uh, dyed wings and wears that crazy hat? I like that one."
  144. >You nod. "Yeah, I like them too." She looks at you again.
  145. "You alright?"
  146. >"I just need to flip my mattress over. How are things on your end?" She sticks her thumbs up.
  147. "Just great."
  148. >"You're lying."
  149. "Mostly great."
  150. >She puts her hands together and purses her lips. You nod understandingly.
  151. >"Astra?" She nods negatively.
  152. "Um."
  153. >You wait for her to finish.
  154. "Erm."
  155. >"Oh no, you forgot how to use words, didn't you?" She makes a puttering laugh.
  156. "That'd be the worst day ever. Nah. Just...got a general need to unwind, I guess."
  157. >She was still lying, but she'd come around in her own time. Always does. "Understandable."
  158. "Think I'm gonna throw a food cart through Astra's window."
  159. >"Is she asleep?"
  160. "Yeah."
  161. >"Then don't do that. I'm sure she's eaten already." She crosses her arms.
  162. "I guess." Her nose flickers. "May as well go conk out myself. Nothing else worth doing around here tonight anyway."
  163. >She slinks up the walls again.
  164. "Night, Dad."
  165. >"Night Eris." She pauses for a moment.
  166. "Love you."
  167. >"Love you too."
  168. >You hear the scrabbling of claws on stone fade away. You look at the moon. Still bright. You look at the stars. Still shining.
  169. >Lights and noises fill everything. You squeeze the stone rail beneath your palms, feeling the texture and coolness of the stone and marble.
  170. >This castle was filled with fires that warmed the lives of so many sleeping people.
  171. >Your children among them.
  172. >You wonder how you could be in so wonderful a waking dream.
