  1. This is a list of major deities only. Those who wish to worship lesser deities with specific (and possibly overlapping portfolios) may ask. Any real-world or published deity exists. AKA there's a shitton of others.
  2.
  3. Almadel (TN), Goddess of Skill, Magic, War, and Victory
  4. Domains: Luck, Magic, War, Void, Glory
  5. Subdomains: Stars, Legend
  6. Holy Symbol: Varies, but usually an "S" shape with three horizontal lines passing through it.
  7. Favored Weapon: Halberd
  8. Almadel is a goddess who would take great offense at being worshipped as one, for by her own reckoning, she is the one and only Hemidivine in existence - something more than mortal, yet not quite a god. She was born a winner, a mortal who was blessed in every way possible, who had all boons imaginable and no flaws imaginable, found success everything in she attempted and failure in nothing, was beloved by all and hated by none. Little wonder that she exists only in legend, then, and not in fact. At the very least, none of her priests - even though they are granted the power they have asked for - have had their prayers answered, received a divine messenger, or benefited from divine interdiction.
  9. Almadel is usually depicted as an otherwise unremarkable, if beautiful, woman in simple merchant garb - for in legend, she was born to a family of merchants. Her unremarkable appearance often contrasts with the events depicted - the summoning of a second sun, the banishment of the Twelve Enlightened Ones, or the famous Battle of Legu, where she single-handedly defeated every other person in the world.
  10.
  11. Mutsuki (TN), Goddess of Darkness, the Sun, Eclipse, Death, and Night
  12. Domains: Darkness OR Vile Darkness, Death, Sun, Passion, Family
  13. Subdomains: None
  14. Holy Symbol: A black circle with a white ring surrounded by a grey haze
  15. Favored Weapon: Unarmed (Improved Unarmed Strike)
  16. Mustuki the Colorless is one of the most well-known - and powerful - gods in the world. She rules over every aspect of the world from the time the sun is swallowed by the world to the time the glow of dawn warms the horizon, yet strangely, the sun itself moves and shines by her very direction. Stories often tell of the fear she inspires even in her fellow deities, and well - she is the mother of all manner of legendary monstrosities, each the pinnacle of a hero's tale, as well as scores of other minor deities. While it is rare indeed, even in legend, for Mutsuki to move on her own, and no story ever has her move unprovoked, she is fiercely protective of her deific children, especially Kae-io, and more than one god has disappeared into the darkness for threatening her wayward son.
  17. Mustuki tends to appear as a female of unclear species in a sheer black dress, wearing a veil of brilliant, luminescent white, when she appears at all. She is often depicted as a faceless shadow standing just out of sight.
  18.
  19. Kae-io (NE), God of Hell, Twilight, Domination, Incest, and Destruction
  20. Domains: Evil, Destruction, Domination, Lust, Suffering
  21. Subdomains: Corruption, Torture OR Pain
  22. Holy Symbol: An upraised hand. Alternatively, a figurine of Salre in chains.
  23. Favored Weapon: Spiked Chain
  24. In a world where Cornelia the Grey famously declared "The existence of an evil man remains unproven", Kae-io the Destroyer is a being with few defenders. Among the gods, his allies number his sister Salre - bound to him through trickery - and his mother Mutsuki, and none others. The reason is obvious - he is perhaps the god most incompatible with the term 'shared interests', for his interest is simply to subjugate, corrupt, torture, and destroy. None escape his destructive - and, simultaneously and frighteningly, lust-filled - gaze; his first, and, as of yet, only victim remains his sister, Salre. He is, thankfully, not very powerful - but he is immune to any attempts at slaying him, for his mother, the equal of perhaps ten lesser gods combined, always steps in to save him.
  25. Kae-io is a human man of massive stature, who is by all rights extraordinarily handsome. It is a shame, then, that he is often depicted more in line with how he acts - an all-consuming beast with the head of a wolf and the body of a pig covered in thorns.
  26.
  27. Salre (LE), Goddess of Sin, Dawn, Punishment, Education, and Knowledge
  28. Domains: Knowledge, Lust, Evil, Domination, Hatred
  29. Subdomains: Corruption, Education
  30. Holy Symbol: A rectangle circumscribed around an eye. Alternatively, a figurine of Salre in chains.
  31. Favored Weapon: Longsword
  32. Gods tend to either embody or control the things they are patrons of. While this holds true for Salre, the Goddess of Knowledge, Education, and Dawn, this is not true for Salre, the Goddess of Sin and Punishment. The Chained Deity holds the unenviable distinction of being the only deity who has her own domains inflicted upon her. She is rarely, if ever, worshipped as a deity of sin or punishment, as she makes a point of inflicting punishment on any who dare to do so. While she answers to the chained figurine often sold by Kae-io cults - having no choice to refuse - it is often the case that a cleric who raises that particular symbol in her name may find his abilities revoked soon thereafter.
  33. Salre is, and is depicted as, a beautiful, white-haired white-skinned sylvan woman with pale grey eyes. Paintings of her in temples dedicated to Salre usually have her sitting or standing alone; paintings of her in temples dedicated to Kae-io tend to her have either at the feet of, or held by the chains by, her antagonistic brother.
  34.
  35. Qa'al-Hazfit (CN), God of the Sea, Storms, Food, and Industry
  36. Domains: Weather OR Storm, Watery Death OR Water OR Blackwater, Hunger OR Feast, Thirst, Artifice
  37. Subdomains: Toil OR Industry
  38. Holy Symbol: A shell with a wave-patterned layout
  39. Favored Weapon: Lucrene Hammer
  40. The Great Tortoise is one of the more active gods in the world, for every storm in existence exists by his allowance and every wave that laps the shore does so by his direction. He also reigns over foodstuffs (not just seafood) and industry and labor in general. He is often considered to be undependable - or simply carefree, depending who you ask - and prayers or offerings seem to do little to influence his judgment or bring his favor. It is often joked that the Tortoise only answers to the prayers of tortoisekind, for surely a tortoise - even an intelligent godly one - no more understands or cares for the wishes of humanoids than humanoids understand the wishes of a tree.
  41. The Tortoise himself drifts aimlessly through the heavens, directing storms here or droughts there by his own judgment. Many believe that comets and novae are artifacts of his passing close to the world, and many festivals are held in his honor on those occasions. As such, he is often depicted with a shining halo around his shell.
  42.
  43. Mox Fallus / Mosfalus (CE), Goddess of Deception, Betrayal, Regret, Strife, and Love
  44. Domains: Destruction, Charm, Darkness, Trickery, Void
  45. Subdomains: Catastrophe, Love, Loss, Isolation OR Dark Tapestry
  46. Holy Symbol: Mox Fallus does not have a holy symbol. Anything acts as one for her priests - even the enemy's own body.
  47. Favored Weapon: Scythe
  48. It is a strange thing indeed to worship a being known for her betrayals. Indeed, very few of her followers gain what they desire - and those who do, often lose their power at the worst time possible. Mox Fallus the Doublefaced - or Mosfalus, depending on which you prefer - has no temples older than 10 years - all, without exception, fall apart in a whirlwind of conspiracy, elopement, backstabbing, and just normal stabbing before then. Nobody can agree on where Mox Fallus arose, nor when. There are monuments to her thousands of years old, older than any other building still standing. She must be ancient. As far as anyone - including other gods - can remember, she was always a goddess. Always. But was she always a goddess last year?
  49. Mox Fallus / Mosfalus is an elven woman at the cusp of marriageable age, and tends to walk around in the nude beside wearing a mask with her own face on it - or what she claims is her face, on what she claims is a mask. She is rarely if ever depicted in a consistent manner.
  50.
  51. Pantokra (LG), God of Kingship, the Sky, the Sun, the Moon, and Fire
  52. Domains: Good, Courage, Purification, Law, War
  53. Subdomains: Redemption, Loyalty, Tactics
  54. Holy Symbol: An upright equilateral triangle with a single horizontal line through it and a white circle in the top half.
  55. Favored Weapon: Bastard Sword
  56. Of all the major gods, only Pantokra, the All-Ruler, matches the common ideal of a heroic man, a great man, a worthy man. He is a man of His word, and His word is Benevolent. Pantokra is the state patron god in all the nations of the Estelvon Mountains and the Karvic Plateau, although his worshippers are certainly not limited to these areas. Unlike many other deities, Pantokra is a God who espouses the destruction of the evil and the protection of the good, wherever each might be found - including in the hearts of men. This lends itself well to militarization, and Pantokra has more knight orders and monk orders fighting his "evil" in the world than all the other deities combined.
  57. He himself has never appeared in person but is generally depicted as a middle-aged man, who bears a suspicious resemblance to the reigning king at the time the painting or sculpture was created.
  58.
  59. Fomalhaut (CG), God of the Earth, Wealth, Marriage, and Time
  60. Domains: Earth, Craft, Wealth, Time, Family
  61. Subdomains: None
  62. Holy Symbol: Any representation of wealth - a coin, writ of credit, etc. The standard holy symbol is a coin with Fomalhaut's visage on it.
  63. Favored Weapon: Rapier
  64. Fomalhaut, the Earth-King, is perhaps the only god who has received at least prayer from every sapient being on the planet. His rule concerns the things that mortals are often most concerned about - the march of time, the stability of their marriage, and the drive to be free from want and suffering. He is also one of the more responsive gods - dutiful prayer to Fomalhaut corresponds well to good harvests, stable trade routes, faithful wives, and long lives marred not by senility. Fomalhaut is also unique for being the only deity to have once been mortal - to, perhaps, still be mortal. Certainly it is not uncommon for Fomalhaut to appear in person, buy a few trinkets, and disappear, with the merchants and peddlers he interacted with only realizing after the fact that they have come face to face with a true deity.
  65. Fomalhaut is a jovial and plump man of unnatural height and musculature, with a full head of hair and a full, bushy beard. His appearance gives an almost cluttered feeling of plenty, while his clothing is often a haphazard mix from all walks of life.
  66.
  67. Envic-Mars (TN), God of Famine and Disease
  68. Domains: Famine, Death
  69. Subdomains: Plague
  70. Holy Symbol: A bracelet resembling a coiled snake. The bracelet is also considered to be a good luck charm.
  71. Favored Weapon: Sling
  72. Envic-Mars is, in fact, a very weak god. He is so weak that it is sometimes argued that theologically, he is not a true god at all. Yet he perhaps the god most prayed to after Fomalhaut, for he rules over the two scourges of civilization, and - in theory at least - spares those who pray. This is not often seen to be the case; Envic-Mars tends to allow both famine and disease to run their course, but those faithful who are the sole survivors of terrible plagues are very convincing, if not rigorous, proof of intervention. As a side note, Envic-Mars is one of the few gods with an actual holy book, which encourages, among other things, regular bathing, massages, and stretching, as well as lessons on the importance of stockpiling wealth in the case of emergency.
  73. The Crippled God is usually considered unlucky to directly depict, and so is often represented instead by a bull with an aurochs skull for a head. Whenever it is necessary to depict him, he is a slender, almost skeletally thin man who has no eyes or nose, only a toothless mouth. The origins of this image are a mystery, for to the best of anyone's knowledge, Envic-Mars has never appeared - if he exists at all.
