Step 3: Archetype
- Rank 5: No free access
- Rank 4: Start with free lores (see Secret Arts Lores, Archetype-specific)

Step 4: Skills (Each +5 is 2 destiny, specialties are 1 destiny each)
- Rank 5: 10 destiny
- Rank 4: 20 destiny

Step 5: Virtues
- Rank 5: All virtues start at 1, spend 15 points to raise them (maximum 5).
- Rank 4: See above.

Step 6: Disadvantages
- May select zero to two disadvantages for free.

Step 7: Kung Fu
- Rank 5: No free kung fu.
- Rank 4: Start with the basics of 1 external style and internal style.

Step 8: Final Touches
- Rank 5: Begin play with weapon and light armor only if appropriate. Start with 8 chi and no Cultivation.
- Rank 4: Begin play with weapon and light armor. Start with 10 chi and 10 Cultivation from your internal style.

Step 9: Additional Destiny
- Rank 5: 15 Destiny + entanglement
- Rank 4: 20 Destiny + entanglement
