- Aku walked up to the end of that cliff. It had been quite a while since they first stepped up there, hadn't it? Still, changes coming from both himself and Clara weren't quite noticeable, or so he thought. Their strength hadn't increased and... Quite frankly? They hadn't been trying hard enough. Looking up to the skies and watching the moon under the daylight's gaze Aku spoke.
- "... I think I need to do a ritual or something. I'm still not feeling it."
- (Aku)
- Clara's shivering had stopped, eventually. The young girl eyed the sky, unable to even clearly see the Moon anymore. Now, her gray eyes shifted to Aku and she shook her head,
- "I need to find a cat," She said. At first - she had wanted a dog but... A cat felt better, at least to her.
- (Clara Ultovex)
- Clara Ultovex says, "... Or a bird. Something small."
- "What for?" He asked, not looking back towards her - refusing to, in fact. He needed to think of a way to honor Belial's wishes that would please him, after all. It wouldn't be all that easy to do so on his own and without Eniel's help, but...
- ... Could he really be free if he restricted himself to that church? He believed not.
- (Aku)
- She answered quickly, without hesitation. She had been thinking on it for some time, and it seems the best logical choice for someone like her. A dog would be loyal, even in life... But a cat was only loyal to itself in life. In undeath, it'd be loyal to her.
- "To kill it," She said simply, "And bring it back."
- (Clara Ultovex)
- Aku says, "I see..."
- Killing an innocent, defenseless animal and bringing it back. This was the way it would have to go, wasn't it? If Clara wanted to practice necromancy she'd have to start somewhere. Aku thought for a few moments after he spoke, turning around to face her at last.
- "I know what to do, now."
- (Aku)
- The Ultovex tilted her head, gazing at Aku quietly before she spoke up,
- "What do you need to do?" She asked now. She looked around the mountain; there probably wouldn't be any small cats here that they could find. They'd have to go elsewhere, ultimately.
- (Clara Ultovex)
- Aku says, "I have to get rid of something that keeps me from being completely free."
- Aku took a rather menacing step towards the girl - grey eyes locking onto hers in a manner that made it seem like she was the one that he would get rid of. His right hand slowly reached out, grabbing the Ultovex by the chin before he grinned at her.
- "I'll renounce the Crimson Moon church. I can't follow another man's orders - that's not freedom."
- (Aku)
- She didn't seem to have much fear as he approached her menacingly, and as he reached out and grabbed her by her chin, the teen seemed oddly calm. As he made his claim she shrugged and eventually pulled away, silent for some time. She knew what she had to do - she had already told him. It was time she started practicing and she felt... No - she knew. She wouldn't have been able to grow being stuck in Dawn for an eternity, over her Father's worry.
- She needed to be out in the world, doing things. It felt right.
- (Clara Ultovex)
- Aku allowed the girl to pull away before he turned around again, looking towards the heavens and the skies. The moon hit his eye as a wide, wide smile appeared upon his face. His words were loud and clear, directed towards the sealed god in hopes he'd be listening.
- "Hey! Do you hear that? I'm leaving that church! I'll follow my own path, that's true freedom. I'll take along whoever wants to walk their own way, too!"
- Gods could hear that, couldn't they? His beliefs were strong enough for Belial to know, he was certain of it.
- (Aku)
- At that point, Clara had turned around, away from Aku and the Moon. She didn't care about Belial. Her Mother did, most certainly... But she didn't - not now, at least. For now, she only had one goal and that was to come back home ultimately stronger. To show that her training would pay off.
- "Come, Aku. I need to find my cat."
- She had never actually killed an innocent living creature, but there was no reason not to start now.
- (Clara Ultovex)
- Aku nodded to her demands. They had done what they needed to do up there, after all. The next step was to explore the world and... do what they wanted. To be free, ultimately. The redhead turned around, stepping closer to the escaped Ultovex, ready to follow her.
