  1. * dancingBlade dancingBlade [DB] has begun pestering hysteronProteron [HP]
  2. @dancingBlade
  3. DB: You there ~~~=>
  4. DB: Tell me about yourself ~~~~~=>
  5. DB: I'm very bored ~~~~~~=>
  6. hysteronProteron
  7. HP: I am there. Hello.
  8. HP: My name is 'Anguis'. Can I help you?
  9. @dancingBlade
  10. DB: I'm Ensera. Tell me about yourself~~~~~~~=> for at the moment, I am very bored and would like to learn new things
  11. hysteronProteron
  12. HP: Hello 'Ensera'. What would you like to learn about? I have a computer to look up any questions you might have.
  13. @dancingBlade
  14. DB: I want to learn about yourself, ~~~~~~=> listen the first time I say it
  15. DB: I'm bored and my shitty pocket computer can barely operate this chat as is
  16. hysteronProteron
  17. HP: I see. Well, 'Ensera', my name is 'Anguis' as I have said. What else about me do you wish to learn?
  18. @dancingBlade
  19. DB: You're clearly deaf, blind, or stupid if you fail to understand what "yourself" means
  20. DB: Tell me about your life, what you do, your history and lineage, your job, ~~~~~~~=> and whatever else you can
  21. hysteronProteron
  22. HP: I have been called all three of those many times, but I do not believe this time they are accurate.
  23. hysteronProteron
  24. HP: I live in my hive in the city, like most trolls. I am a student of legislaceration. I have no meaningful history, but my lineage traces back to The Orthodox. As of yet I have no job.
  25. @dancingBlade
  26. DB: Who is the Orthodox?
  27. DB: Were they a Legislacerator and what are those?
  28. hysteronProteron
  29. HP: My ancestor. He was a judge.
  30. HP: The Orthodox began life as a humble legislacerator, only to surpass and exceed all expectations placed upon him and wind up serving directly beneath 'His Honourable Tyranny' himself.
  31. @dancingBlade
  32. DB: Who's that
  33. hysteronProteron
  34. HP: Who is who?
  35. @dancingBlade
  36. DB: And here I thought you weren't as stupid as you initially appeared to be. ~~~~~=> I asked who His Honourable Tyranny is
  37. hysteronProteron
  38. HP: I think in this situation it may be you who is the deaf, blind, or stupid one. Everyone knows who 'His Honourable Tyranny' is.
  39. @dancingBlade
  40. DB: I live in the desert and I'm talking to you on a shitty pocket computer strapped to my wrist while I lay here with my lusus
  41. DB: I've never seen anything except for endless sand dunes and ancient ruins scattered throughout
  42. DB: I should apologize for my insults, I guess
  43. DB: It's not often someone is willing to satiate my curiosity
  44. DB: So I apologize for acting so rude.
  45. DB: It's unbecoming of myself as a member of my tribe
  46. hysteronProteron
  47. HP: Perhaps it would occur more often if you were to act less abrasive.
  48. @dancingBlade
  49. DB: Hmmm ~~~~=> yes perhaps, but my patience is short and exploring ruins that can crumble and collapse at any moment has ensured my patience can't extend for very long
  50. DB: Much to my behest
  51. DB: If only I could see more of what those ruins had to offer
  52. hysteronProteron
  53. HP: Have you considered exercising patience so that you do not cause any ruins to collapse as a result of your activity?
  54. @dancingBlade
  55. DB: I have to be as careful as possible whenever exploring these ruins, and yet they still inevitably crumble and collapse
  56. DB: If I could, I would happily spend sweeps searching every nook and cranny in search of their secrets
  57. DB: And let me be clear
  58. DB: I am no reckless explorer
  59. hysteronProteron
  60. HP: Ruins rarely tend to collapse unprovoked.
  61. @dancingBlade
  62. DB: I live in the Alternian desert, where the suns are at their most powerful and the winds and sand pay no heed to anyone's desire to explore or maintain ruins
  63. hysteronProteron
  64. HP: The fact that they persist long enough to become ruins should stand as a testament to this fact.
  65. @dancingBlade
  66. DB: The ruins scattered throughout this barren wasteland have been here for what must be countless sweeps, and they've only been standing so long as no one steps foot and disturbs the fragile balance they maintain
  67. DB: I've seen firsthand the fragility of the ruins once disturbed
  68. hysteronProteron
  69. Then perhaps you should be more careful so as to not disturb them after all.
  70. Patience is a virtue. The hunt takes time to do well.
  71. @dancingBlade
  72. DB: Unfortunately my curiosity and the aching tedium of living in this desert would drive me insane if otherwise
  73. DB: I take as much time as I can to be as careful as I can
  74. DB: But these ruins are fragile once stepped inside
  75. DB: They hold on by threads, and once I put weight on those threads they begin to snap
  76. hysteronProteron
  77. Then take more time, and learn to avoid the offending threads.
  78. @dancingBlade
  79. DB: if only the ruins were as identical as you think they were
  80. hysteronProteron
  81. The ruins will not disappear if you spend another week preparing.
  82. @dancingBlade
  83. DB: Yet my tribe will move on and must keep pace or risk abandonment
  84. @dancingBlade
  85. DB: These ruins are literally passing interests that I can only indulge myself in whenever my tribe is stationary, which is not often
  86. DB: So it falls upon myself to be quick in exploring and discovering before the ruins collapse or my tribe moves on
  87. hysteronProteron
  88. Yet you are the cause of these collapses.
  89. @dancingBlade
  90. DB: I know that very well, yet there exists no reasonable method within plausibility to change that
  91. DB: But in the end, I am satisfied with the ability to explore these ruins either way
  92. DB: Even if my curiosity cannot be sated, to even explore the possibilities and secrets in the first place is a joy in and of itself
  93. DB: I think this conversation has been sidetracked for long enough, though
  94. DB: You ~~~~~~~=>
  95. DB: Haven't told me anything new about yourself
  96. DB: So, please, tell me what a legisacerator is
  97. hysteronProteron
  98. A legislacerator is a hunter of criminals.
  99. @dancingBlade
  100. DB: How do they hunt criminals?
  101. hysteronProteron
  102. They are akin to your interpretation of a treasure hunter, with the caveat that their quarry is active, intelligent, and does not want to be captured.
  103. Our work has a time limit that patience and planning will not circumvent.
  104. @dancingBlade
  105. DB: Fascinating!
  106. DB: We share a surprising amount of similarities
  107. hysteronProteron
  108. Indeed.
  109. @dancingBlade
  110. DB: What else is there to learn about you?
  111. hysteronProteron
  112. There is not a significant amount of other information to learn. I eat, I sleep, I study, I practice. More would require time unspent on these, which will negatively affect my future.
  113. @dancingBlade
  114. DB: I can understand that sentiment. If I were to spend any less time ensuring I can keep pace with my tribe I would certainly suffer for it
  115. hysteronProteron
  116. Indeed. As a mudblood my chances of success are already approaching the minimum.
  117. @dancingBlade
  118. DB: You're a mudblood? What does that term mean?
  119. hysteronProteron
  120. Apologies for colloquialism. My blood is bronze.
  121. @dancingBlade
  122. DB: I see. Despite my efforts, I've not learned much about society outside the desert, most likely due to my technological limitations. I knew not of any colloquialisms for blood color
  123. hysteronProteron
  124. This is understandable. One cannot be held accountable for their own level of access to public information.
  125. @dancingBlade
  126. DB: True. Could you tell me more about these colloquialisms and their meanings?
  127. hysteronProteron
  128. My blood is the colour of mud. That is the entirety of the meaning.
  129. @dancingBlade
  130. DB: I asked about other colloquialisms, specifically
  131. DB: Though I would also like to ask why your blood color is associated with mud
  132. hysteronProteron
  133. Other colloquialisms include rustbloods, mustardbloods, bilebloods, greenbloods, bluebloods, highbloods, as well as the distinction between landdweller and seadweller.
  134. My blood colour is associated with mud because my blood and mud are the same colour. They are both brown.
  135. @dancingBlade
  136. DB: I suppose that makes sense.
  137. DB: But who exactly are seadwellers?
  138. hysteronProteron
  139. Trolls of the violet caste, as well as The Empress.
  140. @dancingBlade
  141. DB: Who is the empress? What color is her blood?
  142. hysteronProteron
  143. The Empress's blood is fuchsia. I would advise you to remember that fact. Such an insult to her highness would be unlikely to go unpunished, regardless of your ignorance as to society at large.
  144. @dancingBlade
  145. DB: Fuschia? My own blood is of that color
  146. hysteronProteron
  147. This is not a matter to joke about, 'Ensera'.
  148. @dancingBlade
  149. DB: Have I created the impression that I like jokes?
  150. DB: I tell no lies
  151. hysteronProteron
  152. Then you are mistaken.
  153. @dancingBlade
  154. DB: I may make mistakes, but my own blood color isn't one of them
  155. hysteronProteron
  156. This is understandable, but not something to be taken lightly.
  157. @dancingBlade
  158. DB: But for what reason? My blood color has no influence on my ability to live my life from day to day
  159. DB: And it has no influence on the decisions and abilities of others to live their own lives
  160. hysteronProteron
  161. Declaring oneself as being on par with The Empress is not something one does without facing consequences.
  162. I would heavily advise you to erase this log and learn your true caste soon.
  163. Likely, you are simply a sorely mistaken purpleblood.
  164. @dancingBlade
  165. DB: But I don't declare myself to be her equal. I am a desert wanderer, and I most likely will be nothing more, though I wish I could go beyond this cursed prison of ever-shifting dunes
  166. DB: And once more, I tell no lies about my blood color
  167. DB: I care not about royalty or whatever it entails
  168. DB: I only wish to explore and discover new secrets throughout the world
  169. hysteronProteron
  170. Then you would be wise to do so as a purpleblood.
  171. @dancingBlade
  172. DB: But why?
  173. hysteronProteron
  174. So that you are not culled.
  175. @dancingBlade
  176. DB: That is an extreme measure to take against one such as I
  177. DB: Why would anyone need to resort to it?
  178. hysteronProteron
  179. There are those who would say it is not extreme enough.
  180. @dancingBlade
  181. DB: I will heed your advice for now
  182. DB: If it comes up in the future, I won't let anyone know about my blood color
  183. hysteronProteron
  184. Good.
  185. Now I will scrub this log from my computer, and I heavily advise you do the same.
  186. @dancingBlade
  187. DB: with that I must say goodbye as well
  188. DB: The tribe members are picking up their packs and beginning to move
  189. hysteronProteron
  190. Goodbye, then.
  191. @dancingBlade
  192. DB: I'll see what I can do about removing this log, if it's possible on my shitty computer
  193. hysteronProteron
  194. With all due respect, I hope we never meet again.
  195. @dancingBlade
  196. DB: Goodbye
  197. * dancingBlade has stopped pestering hysteronProteron
