  4.
  5. streaming ut99 with xsplit
  6.
  7. + first things first, xsplit cannot stream fullscreen right now. so you need to put your ut in a window.
  8. - what render device matters, as d3d9 is usually very dark in window mode. d3d10 works very nice for me when streaming.
  9. - you want to window your ut in a 16:9 res is you are steaming in that ratio, if not then to w/e ratio you are going to stream. (stream doesn't do 16:10 well)
  10.
  11. + the most important part is your screen region. once you boot up xsplit look to the bottom left of the program and you should see 3 tabs, "add" "remove" "settings"
  12. - hit add, then screen region. you should now 2 red lines meeting at your cursor. this is what you use to create the space streamed. you can either just click on the ut window (but this will stream the borders) or carefully select the game inside the window borders so it looks better and fits the resolutions.
  13. - after making your screen region it should show on the xsplit program as a small window. you then mouse over the corner and drag it to fullscreen inside the xsplit program.
  14.
  15. + after you have your ut window'd, and you stream section created, you need to make a justin.tv, own3d.tv, or twitch.tv account. i use justin.tv because it is what i'm used to and i will go over my settings for which i use on there.
  16.
  17. - make your justin.tv account, then go into the xsplit window, then broadcast>edit channels>add tab>your provider> then enter in your login info. this is also where you adjust the quality of your stream.
  18.
  19. if you have done everything right, you should be able to see everything in your xsplit window. (also acts as a preview) then all you need to do to stream is broadcast>justin.tv.
  20.
  21. here is all of my settings
  22. +view tab
  23. -resolution 1280x720
  24. -framerate 30
  25.
  26. ++broadcast tab
  27. +General tab
  28. -enable virtual camera output
  29. -disable aero
  30. rest unchecked
  31. +channels>justin.tv>edit
  32. location main origin
  33. quality 10
  34. VBV Max bitrate 900
  35. Resolution 1280x720
  36. 44.100khz 16b stereo
  37. 64000 bitrate
  38.
  39. that's my setup from my home internet which has a bullshit upload of 1-1.5mps
  40. if you have a 2+ upload you should be able to handle 1000VBV bitrate which makes a huge difference. at my new place i have 3.5upload internet (which when working can stream pretty high qual), but my internet is suffering for unknown reason in the last week hence this guide. some of you freaks with crazy upload 10+ can experiment with the bitrate. unless you are 20+ upload i wouldn't try 1080p resolution and just stick to 720 and increase the bitrate.
  41.
  42. bitrate = how clear the stream is so try to find the max you can go without any kind of lag. 2-5 upload speeds start around 1000-1100 bitrate as that is pretty good quality.
  43.
  44.
  45.
  46. there is a bunch of tweaks and shit you can do to add graphics and all kinds of shit but i don't feel like typing all of that yet. if my internet is perma fucked then i can do more, or you can probably just figure most of it out on your own because it's a pretty simple program.
  47.
  48. if you are having cursor issues with window mode, right click on your screen region and go to settings, then disable mouse clicks.
