  Flint's former public safety administrator,(appointed by Michigan Gov. Rich Snyder/ @OneToughNerd)  #Barnett Jones, is in the spotlight again in a Detroit Free Press report that shows he's supervising a former business associate in his role as chief security and integrity officer with the Detroit water department.

The report questions the hiring of Dale Romeo to train security guards for the Detroit department at a time when the department is trying to restructure and shed costs.

Romeo's online résumé said he worked for Tactical Methods Unlimited, a consulting firm owned by Jones.

A spokeswoman for the Detroit department said Jones didn't participate in the hiring.

Jones resigned his post as Flint public safety administrator in January after city officials learned that Jones was also working as chief security and integrity officer for the Detroit Water and Sewer Department. Flint officials said they were unaware Jones was working both jobs until a Free Press reporter questioned them about it.

An MLive report in February revealed multiple inconsistencies between Jones' Flint and Detroit payroll and time records, including a three-day conference during which he was paid by both Flint and Detroit.

The situation led the state treasury department to change its policy regarding appointees of emergency financial managers.
