  1. C-support
  2. Odin: Why, sword? Why must you call out to me, when I am sworn now to the book and not the blade?
  3. Odin: My path lies in the sorcerous darkness, and yet…
  4. Odin: [smile, closed eyes] Just a bit of training wouldn’t hurt.
  5. Odin: Hya! Hah! And- ASTRA!
  6. [Xander appears]
  7. Xander: [surprised] ?
  8. Odin: [smirk] My sword hand is as bloodthirsty as ev- ack!
  9. Odin: [surprised, sweat] Lord Xander! Er- fancy meeting you here!
  10. Xander: [smile] I wasn’t aware you were such an accomplished swordsman.
  11. Odin: A-accomplished? Me? No, I am but a novice!
  12. Xander: Nonsense – your stance and footwork was flawless. You must have trained extensively.
  13. Odin: [blush, wink] Y-you’re too kind, my lord.
  14. Xander: So… why do you not use these skills in service of my brother?
  15. Xander: [frown] Don’t misunderstand me – your magical ability is formidable. But given both my brother and his other retainer typically strike from a distance…
  16. Odin: [sweat] Right… I suppose it would make sense to have a close-range combatant to defend them.
  17. Odin: Er- well…
  18. Xander: …Yes?
  19. Odin: The truth is, milord, I have a grave affliction. My sword hand hungers ceaselessly for blood. Only the most brutal of battles quells its rage.
  20. Odin: In the past, I fought as you saw, a dervish of death and destruction!
  21. Odin: [sweat] But I feared losing myself to the bloodlust entirely. So I took up the tome.
  22. Xander: [surprised] …I must admit, I haven’t heard of many who turn to dark magic to avoid bloodshed.
  23. Xander: Is this curse truly so grave?
  24. Odin: [eyes closed] It is, my lord. My sacred blade was an extension of myself – in putting it down, I sought to still my cursed hand.
  25. Xander: I see.
  26. Odin: [sweat] …You do?
  27. Xander: [smile] Yes. You clearly have immense strength of will, to pass up such a destructive power in the name of control.
  28. Xander: I’m pleased a man of your calibre is guarding my brother.
  29. Odin: Thank you! Although… could I possibly request your silence regarding my affliction?
  30. Xander: [smile] Of course – on one condition.
  31. Xander: When we find a cure for it, you must duel me.
  32. Odin: I would be honoured, milord!
  33. [Xander leaves]
  34. Odin: (…Wait, did he just say ‘when’?)
  35.
  36. B-support
  37. Odin: -and the steel is engraved with pure gold, and the sigils of a thousand gods of rage.
  38. Xander: [sweat] Your knowledge of legendary blades is encyclopedic.
  39. Odin: You’re too kind, milord!
  40. Xander: Do you have a favourite?
  41. Odin: [wink] That would be like choosing between children!
  42. Odin: Although… there is one. The golden blade that cuts through creatures of evil as though they were mere wisps of fog. Its golden light shining as a beacon of justice and safety.
  43. Xander: [sweat] What was that one called again?
  44. Odin: Oh, er- it, um-
  45. Odin: [sweat, injured] It doesn’t have a name. Um.
  46. Odin: Though of course, most blades pale in comparison to the legends of the mighty Siegfried!
  47. Odin: …May I see it?
  48. Xander: Of course.
  49. Odin: [smile] Astounding! Even as it sits idle, it vibrates with the hum of fire and power!
  50. Odin: Oh, the secrets this blade could whisper, had we ears to hear it!
  51. Odin: …Or is it the kind that talks, like the wicked Wo Dao?
  52. Xander: [sweat] No, thankfully.
  53. Xander: Is something the matter?
  54. Odin: [serious] The power truly radiates from Siegfried, doesn’t it?
  55. Odin: Is it like this all the time?
  56. Xander: Mm. Stilling it requires concentration, like so.
  57. Odin: Was it like this before you wielded it?
  58. Xander: No. It lay dull, as though it were made of stone. I remember thinking it looked as though it would crumble in my hands.
  59. Odin: [surprised] But- who was wielding it before you?
  60. Xander: No-one. Not in my lifetime, at least.
  61. Xander: Its previous wielder was a paladin of Nohr, my mother’s grandmother.
  62. Odin: I- I always assumed the divine weapons were inherited through the royal line.
  63. Xander: No. They respond to so few, after all. From all I’ve heard, this is the first time Siegfried and Brynhildr have been active together in an age.
  64. Odin: [smile] What an auspicious era! Together with Lord/Lady Avatar’s fabled Yato, Nohr will be unstoppable!
  65. Xander: [smile] So I hope.
  66. Xander: Now, about your cursed hand. I’ve found several incantations to break curses – the first few you may have already tried, but this one is a secret developed by the elder sages at Macareth…
  67. Odin: [sweat] You’re too kind…
  68.
  69. A-support
  70. Xander: Well? How is your sword hand treating you?
  71. Xander: Still whispering?
  72. Odin: [sweat] The latest fell ritual seems to have calmed its terrifying wrath.
  73. Xander: [smile] Excellent. According to the tome, you’ll need to repeat that once a day or so.
  74. Odin: [surprised, sweat] W-wait, it’s ongoing?
  75. Xander: We’ll need a steady source of algae - the Woods of the Forlorn, perhaps.
  76. Xander: At least the wyvern dung won’t prove too troublesome-
  77. Odin: [worried] Enough! Uncle! I can’t take any more!
  78. Xander: ?
  79. Odin: [sweat, eyes closed] I lied to you, Lord Xander. I’m sorry.
  80. Odin: My sword hand isn’t the reason I turned to dark magic! I just said that so you wouldn’t pry.
  81. Odin: [sad] The real reason is… every time I swing a sword, I think of the woman who taught me to wield one. My skill is only a fraction of hers.
  82. Odin: She was my elder cousin, but we were close as siblings. We fought side-by-side in countless battles. For a time, we were all each other had left. And… she’s far from here. So very far.
  83. Odin: Whenever I start thinking about her, I realise that she could be dead, and I wouldn’t even know. Not just her – all our family, our friends. They could all be obliterated in an instant.
  84. Xander: I presume she wielded that golden blade you spoke of? The nameless one?
  85. Odin: [surprised] Yes. To any mere bystander, it would be dull as a butter knife and heavy as a log. But in her hands, it was extraordinary.
  86. Odin: Seeing her wield it may have been what first inspired my love of legend.
  87. Xander: Did you ever try to take it up yourself?
  88. Odin: [eyes closed] No. Because I knew… if I ever held it, it would be because she was dead.
  89. Odin: [upset] I couldn’t bear to think of such a thing.
  90. Xander: Your homeland’s war is already over, is it not?
  91. Odin: [surprised] How did you know about that?
  92. Xander: It’s plain enough. To leave your homeland behind and come here must have taken great determination. I can’t imagine you would have left while conflict still raged.
  93. Odin: [sad] You’re right. The war ended, but… this fear won’t leave my heart.
  94. Odin: I’m not sure it ever will. Perhaps that’s my true curse.
  95. Odin: But I’m betraying Lord Leo by denying my sword hand its power.
  96. Xander: [injured] It can take a lifetime to heal wounds of the heart. You’re right not to pour salt in them by taking up the sword again.
  97. Xander: Leo would understand.
  98. Odin: [surprised] …!
  99. Xander: [sweat] Odin?
  100. Odin: [smile, sweat] Sorry, you just reminded me of her a bit. Of Lucina.
  101. Odin: She was always so serious and focused on our mission… but she never stopped caring about everyone’s wellbeing, either.
  102. Xander: [smile, closed eyes] I’m honoured you’d compare me to her.
  103. Odin: [smile] Thank you, Lord Xander. I’m sorry to burden you with such piteous sentimentality. After you helped me with my sword arm, too…
  104. Odin: [wink] So how about I repay you with a duel?
  105. Xander: [surprised] With swords?
  106. Odin: [smile] Of course!
  107. Odin: I don’t think I could bear to take up the blade again full-time just yet… but duelling you should be fine.
  108. Odin: [wink] Besides, a chance to face the mighty Siegfried in battle – my sword hand is already quivering in anticipation!
  109. Xander: [sweat] (I thought we fixed that…)
  110.
  111. S-support
  112. Odin: [smile] -whereas the Sol Katti was forged from the tooth of a dragon of light! Or so they say.
  113. Xander: [smile] I see.
  114. Odin: [blush] And- uh…
  115. Odin: [blush] …
  116. Xander: Odin? Are you well? Is your sword hand troubling you?
  117. Odin: [blush, sweat] Er- no, it’s more of a… er…
  118. Odin: (No backing out now!)
  119. Odin: [eyes closed] A new malady has reared its ugly head and taken hold of me! And that malady’s name is love!
  120. Odin: [eyes open, wink, blush] My heroic heart is reduced to putty in its clutches! I am helpless before its whims!
  121. Odin: The only hope for me is that my feelings are returned, that our hearts may join together and create a great castle of love!
  122. Xander: [sweat] I’m… not the best person to advise you on this.
  123. Xander: Perhaps if you wrote them a letter?
  124. Odin: [sweat] (How much more obvious can I make it?)
  125. Odin: A mere pen could do no justice to the affection in my heart! My beloved must hear a full confession!
  126. Odin: [wink, blush] Ahem.
  127. Odin: I was drawn across rivers, plains, across time and space itself to meet you! Your determination, your stalwart protectiveness of all you hold dear, your interest in all things epic…
  128. Odin: You’re extraordinary! Legendary! I love you!
  129. Xander: [surprised, blush] …That’s quite a confession.
  130. Odin: So? What do you say?
  131. Xander: I’m sure they-
  132. Odin: You! It’s you!
  133. Xander: [surprised, blush] !
  134. Odin: Er- sorry to interrupt, my lord. But this is the fourth time now that I’ve tried to confess my love to you.
  135. Xander: [blush] I- I see…
  136. Xander: [eyes closed] No, I’m afraid I don’t see at all. What about your home? If you and I were to be together…
  137. Odin: [smile] My home is in good hands already. Lucina’s hands.
  138. Odin: I realised after we spoke that the reason I was worrying so much about her was that I was getting ready to say goodbye.
  139. Odin: [sweat, injured] If you don’t return my feelings, of course, that’s fine-
  140. Xander: [blush] That’s not something you need to worry about.
  141. Xander: The truth is, I care for you a great deal. You have an extraordinary passion for life, and your knowledge of legend is truly impressive.
  142. Xander: [injured] My concern is that you would find me dull.
  143. Odin: [wink] On the contrary! In fact, I anticipated your self-effacement and prepared a speech – just let me find my notes!
  144. Xander: [sweat, blush] That’s- that’s really not necessary…
  145. Odin: Nonsense! Now, should I talk about how handsome you area, your cleverness, or your kindness?
  146. Xander: [blush, sweat] (This will definitely take some getting used to…)
