- As a group, see if you can creatively solve the problems and answer the questions on the handout.
- 1-3: think carefully about the meanings of all the words used
- 4-6: tricky questions, but the trick doesn’t depend specifically on the meanings of words
- 7-8: spatial reasoning

- twins: two babies born together from the same woman
- You are making an incorrect assumption about the “two” part of this definition.
- (They were two of three babies born together - you incorrectly assumed that the description included all of the relevant people. But it didn’t include the third triplet, Mary.)

- “Not a hair on his head got wet.” - normally you’d think this means he has a head full of dry hair, but in this case it means he had no hair at all

- Start at the end and work backwards:
- Each woman had her own fish.
- Only three fish were caught. (at this point you conclude there are three women)
- There was one big fish, one small fish, and one fat fish.
- Two mothers and two daughters were fishing. (how many women are there?)
- = A young woman was fishing with her mom and grandmother.

- Homework: try to do 7 and 8 at home.
