- Insomnia Sweet Hot Chili
- 1/2 Large sweet onion chopped. (Dice the other half and save it for toppings later)
- 2x 15oz cans Crushed Tomatos
- 2x 15os cans Tomato Sauce
- 2 cups Filtered water
- 4x Wyler's beef bullion cubes
- 2# Lean ground beef (85%)
- 4 TBSP Granulated White Sugar
- 3.5 TBSP Chili Powder
- 1.5 TBSP Cocoa Powder
- 1.5 TBSP Cinnamon
- 1 TBSP Dried Chopped Onion
- 1 TBSP Honey
- .5 TBSP Spanish Paprika
- 2 TSP Fresh Minced Garlic
- 1 TSP Onion Powder
- 1 TSP Ground Cayenne Pepper
- 1 TSP Kosher Salt
- .5 TSP Crushed Dried Red Pepper
- .5 TSP Thyme
- .5 TSP Basil Leaf
- .5 TSP Parsley Flakes
- .25 TSP Black Pepper
- .25 TSP Ground Cumin
- Prepare:
- Combine all ingredients except meat in a stock pot and simmer on medium heat. Cover & Stir every 5 minutes.
- Brown the beef in a skillet and drain. Chop the meat as finely as possible in the pan while cooking.
- Add the meat to the stock pot with the other ingredients and stir thoroughly. Continue to gently simmer on medium/low heat for 1 hour, stirring every 5-8 minutes.
- Serving:
- Ladle chili over cooked thin spaghetti (not angel hair), top with fresh chopped onions and shredded medium cheddar cheese. Excellent compliments to this chili are Premium Saltine Crackers or Oyster Crackers.
