  46. This film is a prequel to all of the The House of the Dead video games. Set on an island off the coast, a techno rave party attracts a diverse group of college coeds and a Coast Guard officer. Soon, they discover that their X-laced escapades are to be interrupted by zombies and monsters that attack them on the ground, from the air, and in the sea, ruled by an evil entity in the House of the Dead...
  47. A group of college students travel to a mysterious island to attend a rave, which is soon taken over by bloodthirsty zombies.
  48. Even after seeing hundreds of horror movies since I was first allowed to watch them in the early 70's, I have never seen a movie as bad as this one. Not only is the plot a rehash of every other horror movie - although it was claimed to be based on the very popular video game - but the directing and editing of this piece of dreg are what drive this movie to an average rating of around 2 (I'm actually surprised it's that high.) The interlacing of video game zombie shots, the almost never-ending fight sequence in the cemetery, the "Matrix" effects, and so on, also put this movie way, way over the edge. I actually greatly enjoy those "so-bad-they're-good" movies, but this is by far no where near that level. Luckily, I had rented this waste of media instead of buying it because I would have used it to pick up my dog's sh!t out in the back yard. 'Nough said about this crappy movie!
  49. Where do I begin with this one? How can I even explain how this ended up in my movie library? Let me just say this: this movie is bad. Not bad as in a bad mother – bad as in this movie stinks to high heaven and everyone involved in the making of it should leave the movie business right now. This is the type of movie that you can spend hours picking apart and pointing out all the little stupidities in it, but why bother? It's just another stupid adaptation of a video game, complete with cheesy scene transitions that cop footage from the game itself. Yes, you heard me right – they actually worked in footage from the video game as the scene transitions in some useless attempt to do something "artistic" when the truly correct and humane thing to do would have been to abandon the entire misbegotten and brainless project at the bottom of the deepest garbage can they could find. It's just another group of incredibly stupid and obnoxious teenagers who then transform into even more stupid and obnoxious martial arts/firearms masters who shoot endless streams of bullets and engage in truly ridiculous Matrix"-type fight scenes that go on FOREVER. Next time you're at your local DVD retailer, tick them off by asking how many unsold copies of this thing they got stuck with.
  50. Does little more than add another title to the very long list of movies influenced by George Romero's 1968 horror classic, "Night of the Living Dead."
  51. In 2003, House of the Dead, the first video game adaptation of Uwe Boll, who has gotten himself a certain reputation in this area, was released. The film is a mundane zombie flick with a shallow plot and a tendency to be trash. Five years later, Lions Gate has released a Director's Cut version of the film on DVD. The film was made into a comedy with new music, alternative scenes, outtakes and several overlay-commentaries - which is the reason for the subtitle "Funny Version" on the DVD's front cover. a5c7b9f00b
