- When I first met Morelli sometime around the first two LIES releases, he was wearing a 1970s era Pittsburgh Pirates throwback baseball cap (or maybe it was an actual hat from the 70's), drinking S. Pellegrino bottled water and rude as all hell. Not many knew much about his label at the time and very few people could endeavor upon a dream with such confidence as Ron. He acted as though this is what he was supposed to do all along. Obviously it was.
- They say no one can foresee the future - or a hit record but Ron knew what he had from day one, a hit label. He said as much. Seven years in, LIES is a global phenomenon. 100+ releases, critically acclaimed and still going strong.

- I pretty much bought everything on LIES up to release #55 ... but somehow lost touch with the subsequent/recent releases (except for the Lipless edits and Larry Heard remixes.) What have I missed? ... any recommendations appreciated! ...

- Inner sleeves don't fit outers both ways (usually with a 'die-cut outer and inner sleeve combo', one can easily unsheath wax because both openings can be aligned, useful in a club or just if you're a lazy cunt). The records are always excellently mastered and pressed, so why oh why oh why must we put up with this sloppy lack of foresight from an otherwise quite good label?

- Does anybody know why the Long Island logo has been snapped in half since LIES028? Is there a story behind that?
- ijustspeak January 6, 2019
- Morelli had a growing distaste of living in US from what i remember. So he took a dive and moved to Europe and snapped the logo in half. Probably this was his way of showing his way to say F**c You NYC

- Three new LIES 12"s came out in the past week! Two Vereker 12"s (LIES #19 and #20) and Florian Kupfer's awesome LIES 14.5. Amazing how many (great) records LIES continue to put out. Got mine from A1 and Turntable Lab in NYC.

- When I first heard about this label sometime around it's third release my initial reaction was "Who is Ron Morelli and What the Hell kind of Music is this"? I was unimpressed. Three years going and I still have the same questions. Who is Ron Morelli and What kind of Music is this? I'm no closer to answering those questions now than I was back then.
- When people ask me the question: "What kind of Music do You Like"? I usually respond with the same answer or some variation of "I don't know". "You don't know???" they reply, No I Don't because the only way I know what I like is AFTER listening to it not before. When I listen to music I try to Be as if I know nothing. To be uncritical, naive and to just Feel and Be and let the music speak for itself kind of something like a painting in an Art gallery that you've seen for the very first time, either you Feel something or you don't.
- At first it was outside of my comfort zone so I didn't Listen but now all of a sudden I find myself chasing. Looking for the next one. Because I don't want to miss out.
- I do feel differently about some of these titles as opposed to the others but Collectively as a Whole I think it's perfect.

- I'm glad I received so many responses to my initial review.
- While it seems a large majority of L.I.E.S. records' pressing runs are shipped to Europe, some are available in the US, but the good ones sell out super quickly. It's always irritating to not be able to find US label releases in the US but see that Juno.uk still has copies in stock.
- As far as represses go, I hope Morelli follows through with his intentions to repress L.I.E.S.
- I'd like to play out some of the older titles that I wasn't able to get.

- It's always been that way with quality American dance music sadly. The market in Europe for this thing is larger and given the current vinyl market with limited pressings we have to fight each other to get our mitts on these things or take out a second mortgage. I wish that L.I.E.S. had some type of subscription service like Deathwaltz has.

- yeah man i don't know what you're talking about. every LIES release has been readily available in the US but some go faster than others (like ANY good record on ANY good label). i've never had a problem getting any of the releases i wanted, you just gotta get em when they come out....pretty basic...
- OCCIDENTAL October 2, 2012
- I was aware of Amoeba Records carrying L.I.E.S. releases but never saw them available through my other US sources (dt304, Forced Exposure, local record stores).
- Will copies be sent to Crosstalk in the future?
- Will the catalog be repressed so people can own these records?
- gonetomorrow September 29, 2012
- Taken from the L.I.E.S. SoundCloud
- "All mailorder for L.I.E.S. releases in the U.S. is handled by http://alldayrecords.com/
- Please contact them for domestic retail mailorder."
- You can purchase the records from All Day for $10 when they come out, they usually post about them a week or two before they get released. Hope that helps!
