- Tournament Rules:
- 1. In order for an entry to qualify they must have a Respect Thread on /r/respectthreads. The RT must be an accurate portrayal of the character.
- 2. Combatants are bloodlusted (i.e. hyper-rational) for the theoretical tier-setting match, but fully in-character for the tournament proper. The tier-setters are fully in character for the tier-setting match. In all matches the combatants feel a strong urge to win the match.
- 3. No duplicate submissions. Characters cannot be the same character from varying points in their own timeline, although alternate reality versions are fine. This is first come first serve when it comes to characters, so try to claim the characters you want quickly in Sign Ups.
- 4. Entries can be submitted with stipulations which clarify/alter how they are being run in the tournament. Valid stipulations are ones which do not alter the character beyond what they have ever been at any point in their history.
- A) Valid Stipulation Example: MCU Iron Man with Mark III Armor, angered like he was when he fought in the Middle East
- B) Invalid Stipulation Example: B1) MCU Iron Man with Mark III Armor and Veronica satellite loaded with Hulkbuster, B2) believes his opponents are terrorists
- B1) This is invalid because Iron Man never used the Mark III and Veronica at the same time.
- B2) The behavior stipulation is also invalid because it directly alters the character's mind state. He has never believed without good reason that his opponents were terrorists. Behavior stipulations must draw from an actual point in the character's history and cannot override their basic sense of reason. Stipulations are here to provide clarity and help widen the scope of in-tier characters, they are not here for you to hyper-optimize your entries.
- 5. Combatants are familiar with their allies' RTs, but their knowledge of their opponents is restricted to what they know already in-character.
- 6. 1 comment minimum in debates to avoid disqualification. Responses must be made within 36 hours of opponent's response to avoid disqualification. Extensions will likely not be granted, but putting in something is better than nothing.
- 7. No bullshit, at my discretion.
