  15. To build a huge 10k+ words article including all the info neccesary about a product.
  16.
  17. Build the main article about this and then create many supporting articles talking about the subcategories of this kind of product?
  18.
  19. Would it be possible to do both? Talk a little bit about this sib categories in the huge article and then create detailed articles about this sub categories?
  20.
  21. Would it be possibel to rank both? 1st and 2nd if I go for the 3rd option?
  22. What you will write on 10k words and who the hell is mad to read it in this fast era.
  23.
  24. I never saw above 4k something truly engaging.
  25.
  26. Go on normal 1-2k words and do it nicely.
  27. Huge Article will attract more traffic, imho
  28. How is that going to happen?

  33. Go on normal 1-2k words and do it nicely.
  34. How about the main Silo with 5k words and then supporting articles talking about the different kinds with 2 to 3k words?
  35.
  36. It is a niche where people are pretty nerdy about it, so I guess they are able to read such an article
  37. I'd say a better question is should you write 'about a product' in the first place. Maybe informational articles, loosely related to the product's purpose can do better. I don't think word count by itself will give you a massive edge in rankings, especially when you go above ~2k.
  38. How is that going to happen?
  39. More content on a page - more opportunities for Google to present this page for many low-frequency search queries.
  40. It will get a higher rating than 10 small articles and therefore more displays in search results.
  41. Go with 4-5 articles ranging from 2k-2.5k.
  42. Huge Article will attract more traffic, imho
  43. Gad damn it, your account is back, we can't lose u lol.
  44.
  45.
  46. I have the opinion that it doesn't matter whether you have a single page of 5k words or 10 pages of 500 words - at least if we're talking about being authoritative. Google seems to look at your website as a whole to determine whether it is the authority on a subject (as well as looking at who links to you).
  47.
  48. I'd go for short articles that read well. You won't rank in the top 5 results without good user interaction. Write plenty of articles and interlink them. You could even use a silo structure.

  52. This! It's better writing article that answering keyword intent than long form boring article.
  53.
  54. But I guess we're entering long form article race. Since everyone trying to write report/ebook in their blog post. Lol
  55. Huge Article will attract more traffic, imho
  56. I believe from what I have experienced on my sites, at least in spanish language search engines that bug articles, above 3k words attract more traffic because they do rank higher even on low TF sites. Brian Dean mentions it in one of his case studies

  59. Yes that is right,I am focusing on huge quality article that answers all the questions the nerdy people in this niche might have, basically I am compiling all the info about this topic and laying it down in a huge quality article.

  71. Yeah, I am thinking of taking advantage of all the sub categories this niche has to write the most informative guides out there for each kind, and having the general one as the pillar.

  76. How about well written long articles. I believe this topic has a lot to talk about that is why I'd rather create a big article than creating tons of thin content about each thing. What are your thoughts on this?
  77.
  78.
  79. I really love watching the vids from a spanish SEO called Romuald Fons. He ranks many of his sites with barely no links (Unless hes blocking his PBNs on the SEO tools) by developing a single topic in a horizontal way. Creating huge quality articles on each page.
  80.
  81. Home Page (Birds) -> General Kind of Bird -> Sub Species

  85. Yeah as I said I have better experiences with 3k+ articles than smaller ones
  86. If the question is in regards to what will work better for SEO, then it all depends on where/how you place your links.
  87. I would tend to go with smaller articles.
  88. Both...Build one mage article as broad as possible within your niche and then break it down in smaller article going in-depth about each subtopic and interlink them.
  89. I'm sceptical of anyone ranking competitive keywords without external backlinks. Its not hard if your competition is weak - you just need your website to be more authoritative in terms of subject coverage on that topic.
  90.
  91. I can't imagine many people wanting to write thousands of words about sub-species of birds and also caring about SEO.
  92.
  93. It is also hard to determine whether someone who claims to be using no incoming links isn't using a hidden PBN.
  94.
  95. Write whatever length articles you want to write. Just make sure that no matter how many articles you split your content into, you're the most authoritative website on that subject.
  96. Both...Build one mage article as broad as possible within your niche and then break it down in smaller article going in-depth about each subtopic and interlink them.
  97. How would you interlink those? Parent page leads to subtopics and then I interlink subtopics between them?

  105. Click to expand...
  106. Great point!
  107.
  108. And dont you think it makes sense as the Google algorithm to reward sites that give a deeper insight on X content instead of just getting comfy being an authority site and ranking first for less in-depth content?
  109.
  110. If everybody competes for better content on a topic, Google benefits from it since it will give the best answer to its users competing to create the finest piece of content instead of faking or trying to obatin links from sites where you ability and efforts as a content creator dont matter?
  111.
  112. I mean maybe it is not like this but to me it makes a lot of sense rewarding effort and quality instead of authority
  113. How would you interlink those? Parent page leads to subtopics and then I interlink subtopics between them?
  114. That′s a very general way of putting everything but pretty much yeah. If you′re running a niche website where most of the topics are going to be related in some extent to one another its very easy to linked them using different anchor texts. But the main thing here is to link them all to the main article.
  115.
  116. What are the benefits of this?
  117. * Allows visitors to navigate your website a lot easier
  118. * It improves the all-around traffic on your website
  119. * It spread the link "juice" or link equity across all your website. This is another benefit of using that big article as an "anchor" to boost the traffic across all the other smaller ones.
  120. * It increases the average time spent on your website.
  121. * Help search engine spiders to crawl your website a lot more effectively.
  122. * It helps boost the rankings for certain keywords used within the anchor text
  123.
  124. Please read these. I′ve found these resources on interlinking to be the best out there.
