  1. Where is this taking place, anyways?
  2. Stonebreak, a massive landmass that, while still connected, is cut up in continents. It is basically a pangaea that was supposed to break apart, but was kept together through careful usage of magic. Each continent has its own major Domain, ruled by a Lord, and a few to a lot of minor villages. The Domains are as follows:
  3.
  4. Vulcrack, Domain of fire. This Domain's major exports are smithing tools & adventurer equipment, as well as Lavastones, a common commodity that takes the place of heating systems. as one would expect, smitheries are a common sight, and overheating is a common problem. Minor volcanos dot the land, and master smiths use the lava from them to make their art. Due to the main source of income for a lot of people being primarily smithing & most people having grown up around weapons, people have the least liking for magic in general. They still accept it due to it being a common part of life, and even revere local enchanters & runeblades (the common term for people who use magic weaponry), but in general they view it as "meh".
  5.
  6. Glashul, Domain of ice. This Domain's major exports are tea, philosophical books, and Frostones, the inverse of Lavastones and replicate cooling systems. The Domain has a strict code of honor, but also believe that everyone, until without a doubt proven otherwise, is at the very least deserving of respect, and that you should always prioritize your mental wellbeing over any obligation. The leader of the Domain is the Ningishi, which is a word from their old language which roughly translates to "Wingless angel". The people respect & praise magic, but prefer to use their swordplay in combat, which many of the residents have trained in as children. This place, despite its inhabitants seeming to be rather "cold", has the lowest crime rate of all. This is due to the current reigning religion, which believes that the purpose of mankind is to spread contentment & brotherhood among all civilized people, and the fact that the prioritization of one's mental health has led to a much higher amount of therapists in comparison to the other Domains.
  7.
  8. Sparkland, Domain of electricity. This Domain's major exports are magic devices meant to make people's lives easier, and activated relics from the Elden, the people to populate the world previously. The place is not named because of lightning bolts being common, but because this place has the most amount of technology from the past integrated into its daily life. They even have museums dedicated to how they hypothesized life was like for them, not unlike what we do for ancient greeks, romans, and egyptians. As a result, most of if not all of the world's first-wave historians, those who study the era of the Elden, originate from here. It is also the only place to begin implementing a non-monarchal method of rulership, instead attempting to integrate a "union of legality" from the first wave. The people here are the most open to change & difference, due to constantly having new technology integrated into their lives & consistently seeing examples of the old world and its ideas.
  9.
  10. Goldam, Domain of commerce. This Domain does not have any specific export, as many different companies & nations do trade in and out of it. The only people who stay there are either people of varying degrees of richness, or people desperate for money. Multiple companies have their headquarters set up here, and multiple tourism spots are set up to not just milk a much cash out of them as they can, but also be enjoyable and make them think it was worth it. Sure, they may be gold-thirsty capitalist, but they're respectable merchants too. And no respectable merchant is a rip-off. The rich people tend to hire out servants, not only to make their lives all the more lavish, but also to feed their morality, paying them a rather good amount of cash to work for them to make themselves feel like they aren't the second coming of Jeff Bezos. Ironically, there are 0 veins of gold in this area.
  11.
  12. Highlyn, Domain of knowledge. This Domain's main exports are skill scrolls, books, and magic inkwells that don't dry out. This mountainous citadel is filled with scholars of magic, each one researching different branches of magic. The colleges here are among the most respected, academically, and many a sage has been here. The people here hold knowledge above all else, but, unfortunately, are beasts of pride. They are the least tolerable of the Domains, giving Humans & Elves special treatment, and even treating Arisen as monsters & Automatons as mindless machines. Despite this, the current leader is attempting to reform this, and is putting in all efforts to make reparations.
  13.
  14. The villages are for the most part only minorly dependent on the Domains; while they are entirely capable of self-sufficiency, they prosper with their assistance, and even have knights training the village's militia to help take care of the everyday pests and the occasional monster. They send a monthly "tax" to these domains, as thanks for their services; quotation marks are used since these are entirely gifts of gratitude, and not mandated by the Lords of the Domains. In the event that there are any needs that need to be met, quest boards have been set up around the villages for anyone that has a need that they themselves cannot perform, from monster slaying to fetch quests. Many of these quests are mostly paid for out of pocket by the Lords, as a thank you for the offerings sent to them.
  15.
  16. genre (as in is it Magicpunk, classic fantasy, dark fantasy, etc.)
  17. fantasy, but with a few industrial advances.
  18.
  19. What's the story?
  20. you and the other players are a newly assembled group of adventurers. wanting to become part of the greatest team ever, for whatever reason is relevant to each of you, you all decide that you want to take on one of the world's Great Evils. because vidjagam logic. anyway, because at least ONE of you is smart enough to realize you need to take Cranky's advice and git gud, you decide to take down a couple of bounties before you start knocking Elder God's door. the bounties are randomized & the adventure is never the same, but a poll is held (either in-session or in the chat) to decide which eldritch king you decide to fight.
  21.
  22. Who's the big baddie we gotta fight?
  23.
  24. the bounties & who they belong to are completely randomized. they are, however, scaling, meaning once you complete one, the next one will always be a fair yet challenging fight, regardless if you somehow killed them in 5 minutes at level 1 with only starting stats, or spent a month grinding. normally, only 5-7 bounties are required, but sometimes you can get a special bounty, which are like bonus quests. these do not count towards the 5-7. in contrast, there are a total of 8 Great Evils, each one set in stone & have a constant skillset & stat spread, considering they are meant to be extremely powerful. However, being created by concepts & ideas colliding and manifesting, new Great Evils can be spawn at any moment. They are:
  25. Stilgaz, embodiment of stagnation, neglect & emptiness.
  26. Blotgut, embodiment of greed, gluttony, & sloth.
  27. Razeiel, embodiment of war, hatred & destruction.
  28. Pestilsect, embodiment of infestations, disease, & conniving.
  29. Ignorex, embodiment of stupidity, misinformation, and unacceptance.
  30. Spirand, embodiment of chaos, self-expression, and madness.
  31. Paranoir, embodiment of secretiveness, suspicion, and fear.
  32. Mimycelia, embodiment of uniformity, envy, and parasitism
  33. for some odd reason, only one is awake at a time (hack cough convenience splutter hack).
