- Confronting The Man Who Inspired Him, Seneca
- Looking around the town. He noticed it was mostly empty. That was, until he saw Seneca... So, being the outgoing lad he always was. Reno stood there, he first smiled at the Drakanite and frankly.
- He was at a loss of words, only speaking with whatever jumbo scramble of words came out of his mouth, till his senses came together at least.
- "Hey there! Mister bravery! Your hair is white like snow---!" He paused, realizing he probably embarrassed himself. But, Reno tried to use hand gestures to speak clearly.
- "I mean. I've been meaning, to thank you. It's an honor, meeting you, I say." Now, he struggled with formality. Seeing this young man as a more dignified and polished warrior.
- (Reno)
- [20:46] Reno, for now would have to put such aside. He may of not been noticed this time, however. This won't stop him from trying again. Once certain person had returned from their rush of errands or duties.
- "What to do, what to do."
- (Reno)
- [20:48] Reno says, "Hm..."
- [20:51] Seneca took a breath and existed.
- (Seneca)
- [20:52] Metztli notices Seneca being conscious. And just... stares at him.
- (Metztli)
- [20:58] With his eyes set on the people of Theria. The inactivity bothered him greatly. And he was not one to stand around and do nothing. Instead, he would do what he does best when alone and that, was train, until someone of interest either came out to be active with this young busy body.
- Or, to just keep training, until he noticed a change in his own development. "If nothings going on, I'll just put on a show. Maybe inspire people, like many have inspired me," he looks at Seneca, someone who inspired him to become an unarmed fighter despite being an armed drakanite warrior. But, as a human, Reno believed in his own strength because of the battle against Sicks. This just made his volition all the more powerful, thus the dire need to always train and seek improvement through the help of others, but. Strictly, seeking such to display the strength of an empty handed warrior.
- "Analyze, adapt, and improvise..." Said Reno as he assumes the stance of a modified Iron Fist. This time, looking at the smooth tree did Reno strike at the center. Its smooth bark did not harm his hardened fist much, but he was learning to strike for the vitals and make it count. "To hit the vitals, I can't just add power, I need to be more precise..."
- The teen took his time, and had his eyes fixed on the lines of the tree. He aimed to chip away the bark of this tree, one at a time. And though many were watching. He hoped to make these impressions upon Seneca. "There are people out there who inspire others to seek light beyond the shadows and face all with bravery. And others who wish only to dominate until the day of their demise."
- He struck the tree, not in rapid succession but simple one sharp punch at a time. Chipping away at the bark of the tree to make just one section of it as smooth as possible. This was his method of training to try and attain his own variation of the Chronos Aura. Because Froseal's and struggling to constantly find people to train with were not making him reach this goal of progress. "Timed precision, footwork... Awareness, that's how you won right?" He looked at Seneca.
- (Reno)
- He was in fact sitting upon a bench not paying attention to anything in the world. Even as Metztli glared holes into him from the side all he could do was gaze towards the far off heavens.
- He then was roused by Reno's words, looking down upon the younger man. Violet hues tinged in a dark crimson; those vertical iris dilating as they took the youth in. Lips curled upwards in a smile.
- "Thank you, my hair was a gift of my mothers. She found that it's ashen nature would help reflect light unto the shadows." As he spoke he glanced over towards Metztli, she was behaving rather well for the moment. Wonder what'd caused that?
- Oh, yes the youth spoke, his gaze returned quickly "One's actions need never be thanked. I do what I do because it is right and it is true to myself. You can 'thank' me if you wish by aspiring to be a better person."
- Though, after a time he saw the youth begin to train. His head tilted to Metztli evenly and he spoke calmly. "Metzy, you've not tried for my throat yet today. Not growing found of me are you?" It was a little jab at the demon's incessant attempts against him but also something fun for himself.
- Then he looked around a bit, spotting first Lira. Raising a hand to them he'd speak across the clearing. "Speaker! If you may I would add you unto the guildhall so that it can be put to proper use for our people."
- Then he looked to Lumi and his gaze flitted about there person. It was so strange how vastly different they'd started to look. Amazing what a change of outfits could do? "Hey Lulu, how went the rest of the mission after I collasped?"
- Then he blinked, looking back towards Reno. Now this was something he'd have to address. The boy's posture was good, his diligence keen and yet... The Drakanite rose over. Striding across the snows as if he barely touched them. A hand came to rest upon the spot where Reno had been striking.
- "It's alive." It was all he said at first. That simply fact as he trailed his fingers along the bark's worn down sides. Then he shifted fully to Reno, a mithril hand reaching out to rest on the younger magi's shoulder. "No, I've never won my fights using those things. I was never trained to fight. I simply am. When the call of violence begin's my spirit soars and my wrath is unleashed upon my foes. I will my body to become like my distant kin. In doing so? I find purpose of mind and action."
- He then chuckled. "Of course, I think training was the easier option. Come, shift your focuse onto something more difficult." As he spoke he strolled over to a large stone reaching up out of the frozen lake. His right fist, still organic, morhphed slowly into a dragonic set of claws and hardened scales. Lashing out into the stone, the winds curling around his fist as he struck it.
- Yet, nothing happened.
- Then he pulled back and waved a hand towards the stone. It was completely without signs of marring. "Control, it is the most important thing for a warrior. Control is how one such as I keeps from being consumed by our rage. Control is how a martial artists strikes to disable without death. Control is what keeps one..." His gaze flitted to Metztli "Free."
- (Seneca)
- He smiled, turning to Seneca once more. "You never trained for this? But you were talented on the field... Still, it's because of that, I view the world in the shape that I do."
- He placed his hand on the tree. "Shapeless, like water, and always changing." The teen valued life, but he was also willing to take in self defense.
- "I spent most of my life fleeing from magi, not knowing that I was one. I used to think that only power hungry people wanted it for destruction. Then I saw you, and it made me change my mind. About so much."
- Reno saw that Seneca had attracted the attention of others. He did not mind being quiet for some time. But, for now, as Seneca would speak to those that approached him. Reno continued to chip away the bark at the tree, and in a way, this was his way of community service. Helping those kids with a safer playing field, to prevent splinters and being bit by bugs.
- His strikes, many of them failed and few were on the mark as he grew slower from fatigue. These strikes, again were to be precise, and imagined as vital points for the purpose of perfecting a new fighting stance.
- "One of these days, I want to test my strategy and might against you, but, maybe not today haha. It surprises me, how much attention can be brought onto a single group. We mortals, we're just drawn to each other, be it good or in bad intent." Sometimes, it shows that the teen would hit the books but other days, some might doubt it as he keeps to his fist and legs.
- (Reno)
- Seneca's attention trailed back to Reno, watching them closely for a time. It was something good to be seen. His actions an inspiration upon others to act rather than simply stand by. Perhaps in time they would become a hero.
- "We're communal beings, it is due to the life-stream which binds us all together. It flows through all things and is the heartbeat of Kraus. Never forget that your foe is your brother and your brother you foe though of course maybe I am being philosophical for no reason."
- His attention then turned away, having seen enough of the martial prowess for now. It was clear the Smiling Dragon was pleased at another taking up the torch after witness him. "Simply keep your hands free of death and live. In time we shall meet as equals upon the field young one."
- Now though he was looking to Kircheis. "Because, I do not kill that which thinks and breaths. I would rather train her to be better than she was. Which, I dobelieve I am making progress with. Albeit slowly." He took a breath and then settled his gaze upon Kircheis. It was a cold serpents stare of red-rimmed violets.
- "She's mine."
- The words where spoken clearly, loudly, and without reservation. No doubt it was unwise to test a dragon's claim.
- (Seneca)
- Pivot, right...Strike once, right punch Pivot, and to the left...Strike three times, jab, left hand. Side step, three times, sweep kick, five times. This was the typical routine, the rotation Reno had on him right now for todays training. It's what chipped away the rough bark on the tree and made it smooth. Why the sudden change? Because those words inspired him, perhaps, he will even fight by Seneca's side one day.
- Though he had not met everyone in the Guild yet, he'd be glad to fight in and outside of it for the same cause. For those who are weak to be protected, and even though, many were or would be his enemy in the future. Those same people would also be his brothers and sisters, much like how he values the life of a commoner. Despite their inability to utilize magic, those were the people Reno valued the most.
- "I can sit with that. To know that others think this way, It brings me some peace, you see? Focus, instead of rage... At least when I can help it," said Reno as he strikes the tree bark ones more. He's achieved a straight smooth line at this point, now he had to get the upper row. He had to get used to facing beings larger than him and perhaps even smaller than him.
- "Have you seen the world? I've barely left this town, and never did I see what any other place is like... I've heard stories, but in rough detail," he explained with a pant of breath. He was tired, or getting tired. He lacked the stamina to train for days on end, that was not humanly possible and that, was both his strength and weakness. If he did not see himself as a magi in full, it held him back in someways… Mentally.
- (Reno)
- Those dazed eyes closed as he listened to the hatred and spite passed between one another. Listened to the innocence of Reno nearby. Listened and listened, his tapered ears twitching eagerly as they took it in.
- HIs amicable smile seemed to falter for a moment. It was just a moment, as a hand came up to touch his chest. It burned, the flame's that'd scorched his flesh living as he raided a demon's forged still stung. Yet, in this moment?
- Those eyes opened and looked outwards towards nothing at first. He then stood from his seat. His gaze shifted towards Reno for a moment. "I have seen all the world and more. It's shadows, it's lights, it's twisting natures." It was a simple answer, it was a brief answer but it is one that he gave.
- His gaze then turned back to the duo before him. His hand came to rest upon the hilt of his nyeshkian club. Unlatching it form his belt, allowing the hefty weight to drop and crack theice beneath his feet. He first settled upon Metztli, offering his frown to them. "Do not antagonize others. It is rude and it is infuriating. You're not innocent and you should be working to forgive his own actions. Not use them to hoist yourself up onto a pedestal. Because at this moment? In this time? You're under my care. Do you think that means I am simply out to punish and control? No, it means I will also guide and protect."
- His focus then turned to Kricheis and with it he took a step. He wasn't larger than the man by any means. In fact as he looked upwards towards the Krausite's face.
- "Kraus created free will for all of those who live upon his world. Free will to change and to be more than you are. All the things you have said may in fact be true. The angel's may have dined to tell you to slay and reap. The book of Kraus as it was written may have told you the same."
- His tail swayed from side to side rapidly before as if to accentuate a point it came down upon the ice. The loud bang echoing about the arena.
- "But I serve no angels. Only myself as Kraus wished when he forged Eternia."
- Freewill, held to a pinnacle.
- "You've spoken as is your will but if you press this violence our wills will clash. I assure you. My will is the greater."
- (Seneca)
- [22:04] Taking a moment to catch his breath. Reno wouldn't nod his head, but his agreement to the topic would be seen through his body language. He stood tall, more firm than before. He had his chin up with a smile, as if a military leader was speaking to his troops in order to heighten the spirits. It was this sort of motivational speech or simply, talking to someone so strong as an equal. That gave him an additional push.
- Now, Reno remained more focused on his training. He made it clear through his more pressed dedication towards his training, that Seneca had told him enough at this point. It was all that he needed. "One, two, one, two." Reno whispered to himself as he pivots around the tree, constantly chipping away at the bark.
- This was no show of strength. He did not want to destroy the tree, only test his precision with each cutting motion. And it was because of this routine training, as well as the words of wisdom bestowed onto Reno. That his form looked more polish rather than sloppy as it did days before. He needed some positivity after all he's seen the past few weeks. "One, two, three, one, one, one, two, three." The routine to perfect and obtain the style of the Chronos Aura intensifies.
