Cubism, Abstraction, Other European Avant-Garde
Late 1920s - 1927 -traveled to Paris for drawing lessons @ Académie de la Grande Chaumière
             Later entered École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of the Musée du Louvre
             Then worked in studio of French artist Fernand Léger
             Then studied with Russian painter Alexandra Exter - Cubism and abstract forms
1934 - Returned to Havana, joined Cuban Avant-Gaurd Mvmt
(Then this could segueway into some of her award-winning paintings while she was back in Cuba)

P.S.: I haven't chosen a painting yet for my section.  I'm trying to find the one that best represents European Abstraction/Avant-Garde.

En 1927 <mil novecientos veintisiete>, (Amelia) Peláez salió de Cuba a París, aunque visitaba España e Italia.
Allí, tomó lecciones a la «Académie de la Grande Chaumière» y luego entró en la «École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of the Musée du Louvre».
Apredió sobre la vangaurdia, el cubismo, y la abstracción.
Cuando se graduó, empezó trabajar en el estudio de la artista francés Fernand Léger.
Entonces estudió con la pintora rusa Alexandra Exter, que tambien enseñó cubismo y otros formas abstractas a Peláez.
En 1934 <mil novecientos treinta y cuatro>, Peláez volvió a Cuba y ingresó en la movimiento de vanguardia en Cuba.
