Holt subtly twisted his hand, and suddenly, Metallo appeared!
For a split second, Superman was startled, thinking Holt had summoned the real Metallo, who must have been under his control all along. But the cyborg hovered in the air, shimmering slightly. “A hologram?” Superman guessed.
“Of sorts,” Holt said. “A highly accurate 3D image. When my T-spheres surrounded Metallo’s feet, they didn’t just distract him.”
“They scanned him,” Superman said.
“Bingo,” Holt said, smiling. “What you’re seeing is a projection based on their scans. But it goes way beyond Metallo’s exterior appearance. I’ve got data on his interior structure, his programming, his brain—the works. It’s as if you combined an ultrasound, an MRI, an X-ray—”
“And a dissection?” Superman asked.
Holt chuckled. “With a virtual scalpel, yes.”
